Wipeout: In the Zone trailer will brutalize your Avatar

We're not sure we understand the appeal of Activision's upcoming, Kinect-equipped TV adaptation, Wipeout: In the Zone. The trailer after the jump should explain our hesitation -- see, self-inflicted trauma is hilarious, but not when inflicted on lifeless, unfeeling Avatars.

I keep seeing news about Kinect-enabled Wipeout and get thinking the world is over and the titans of gaming have merged. Buuuut.. minigame collection, right? That's much better than end-of-the-world crossover awesomeness.

Now now, Doritos Crash Course, just because you worked out how to add Kinect controls doesn't mean you get to become a full game all of a sudden.

I thought that the crash course should have been kinect to start, Maybe this'll be more than 21 levels and some interesting online/party modes.
It's ActiVision though so it'll be minimal effort, release at $60 only to be dropped to $40 in 2 weeks just to "sucker punch" those early adopters.
I still say this is mXc americanized. Kenny Blankenship and Vic Romano made that show. Also the wrongly translated japanese. *The Bangar twin sisters, Fingar and Gangar.

Is this the same developer as the Doritos game? It looks very similar. I actually liked "Crash Course." For a free game, it was much better than Doritos first free one with the dinosaurs and cars.
If this is a downloadable game for like $10-15, then perhaps I'll be interested ... depending on the reviews, of course.

Hmm. It actually didn't look as bad as I feared it would. Could be fun .... for $20. But you said Activision, so ....

A crappy game-show based on the greatest Japanese game show ever created...turned into a videogame. When will they just stop?!

I guess when they create a shitty board game made on the horrid movie set on the crappiest game show based on the greatest japanese game show turned into a video game.
That would be my guess.

I can only guess that most of us got here by seeing the word Wipeout thinking "Awesome futuristic racing action returns to the Xbox finally" and then realized it was nothing more than an ishty game based on an ishtier game show.

Shocking just how much it looks like Crash Course. If they added regular controls then Total Wipeout would be a nice accompniment but I see Kinect and think nooooooope.
