Red Faction production stills look very, very surly

The SyFy press site recently added a handful of production stills for its upcoming original film adaptation of the Red Faction franchise, posted in the gallery below. Did you know that, in addition to being composed of red rocks, Mars is also made out of frowns?

And yet, a tri-boob woman is nowhere to be seen. Maybe it's for the best.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, they'll probably cancel it before it gets anywhere

Is that Robert Patrick? He looks like a real-life Reznov.

Apparently on Mars there is no stigma about bringing a knife to a gun fight.

I actually really like Robert Patrick's coat.

First thing I thought was that pic looks like a bunch of people in Ghostbusters outfits because my screen was dimmed. I brighted it and saw really cheap outfits.
Most people hate it but I'll still watch it if it airs in Canada, speaking of which...

The problem isn't the cheapness of the costumes, it's the cleanliness. These guys are supposed to be MINERS. Where's the dirt? The dust? The grime? Seriously, SyFy, invest in a bag of Fuller's Earth and have these guys roll around in it.
Everything is too clean looking. If you're not going to get the visual aspect of your low-budget made-for-cable video-game-tie-in schlock, are you expecting terrible writing and disinterested actors to really carry the work? For the love of God, put more effort into the aesthetics of your crap rather than hiring a B-list actor who most certainly doesn't give two sharts about your non-story of a script.

why does syfy have to suck so hard? and why did they ever rename it "syfy" in the first place?

Maybe I'll give it a try. I've grown to dislike Syfy a lot, or as I call it, the Low Budget Movie Channel.

I don't see a lady in picture 4 - but this will help with whichever lady you're talking about:

Where are my Sledgehammers? The guerrilla faction is a group of terrorists by definition, so the destruction should be gleeful and passion-filled not somber and depressing. These images make me sad for the untapped potential of B-movie wanton destruction.

That 'Shoulder to Shoulder' poster in the final image seems to be promoting a lot more than it does at first glance...

I knew this was a SyFy movie before I even read the article. Sad. You shouldn't dread SyFy movies.

That shoulder to shoulder poster does scream rebellious..in a way.
