It's 'Portal Kombat' atop the UK charts

Portal 2 nabbed the top spot on the UK software sales chart last week, followed by Warner Bros. Interactive's Mortal Kombat reboot in second place. According to Chart-Track, Portal 2 was actually Valve's first ever all-formats chart topper -- the closest the company ever got to the crown was with The Orange Box, which reached third place.

Call of Duty: Black Ops "price promotions" in the region caused Activision's behemoth to jump back into the the top three, followed by last week's chart topper, Zumba Fitness, which still increased sales by 10 percent last week. The top five was rounded out by the blockheads of Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River also had a solid debut, entering the charts in sixth place. Check out the full top ten after the break.

PSN will be running up again, it WILL work... and this is not fair to Sony when there is a hacker like a "virus" over at PSN capable of stealing games for free ... people like you have no patient whatsoever...

Ok... admittedly I was just making a quick joke about PSN, but sense you took it so seriously I think its ridiculous that you just chalk it up to "impatience" if any one is outraged by the situation. Everyone seems pretty pissed about it.

@Mazrael I haven't played portal 2 but i know its good but have you even played the new Mortal Kombat its phenomenal and easily the best fighter this generation so since i haven't played them both I'd say they are equally great. But before you go dissing a game you should really play it because the game is simply AMAZING Netherrealm studios deserves a standing ovation for this game because I for one did not expect the game to be so good.I'll be picking up portal in a couple of weeks.

But on a more serious note, This reboot of MK was completely necessary, they can do patchless updates to keep it balanced, it looks awesome, Kratos + Babality = Horrifying. It's definitely a buy for me, but not Day 1 like Portal 2 was.

Portal 2 was simply Lunacy.

Oh geeze, I forgot Mortal Kombat was released recently as well. I guess that's probably best played passing about a controller on a couch, but still, online outages really blow.

Good to see Portal 2 did well, it's an amazing game.

MK's fighting mechanics were underwhelming. The visuals were sweet though. UMK and MK3 will always be my all around fav. Best combos, fight speed and art direction IMO.

So I have a problem, Joystiq community. My 360 was stolen last year. I got the new small one to replace it. I was able to get my XBLA titles back except for UMK3. It is no longer in the Marketplace. What do you guys think I can do?

If I recall, games aren't actually removed from Xbox Live Marketplace, merely de-listed. It may be an extremely long trek depending on how much you use the Marketplace and Arcade, but it should be somewhere in your download history at https://live.xbox.com/en-US/Download/History

i was in a retailer yesterday, and it's so lame to see black ops @ 1100 pesos (US$95) and Mortal Kombat @ 900 pesos (US$76)

yeah.. game prices in Mexico are that high...

R$ 199 (U$ 128) in Brazil, if you're doing it legally.

The MSRP is $69 and everywhere I've seen it (Best Buy, Future Shop, EB Games, etc.) it's been $69 or less.
