I actually like this game, though I'm not too big into MMOs. I'm glad that it went FTP like Dungeons and Dragons. Now if only World of Warcraft would do the same! I doubt it, but one can dream!

Ya'll hear the recent annoucement over at Sony? What a load of PR damage control bullshit.

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2011/04/27/clarifying-a-few-psn-points/

Especially when all fortune 500 companies have a dedicated team committed to monitoring and analyzing data. You know the thing game companies covet most of all.

@Anticrawl

Here is a sample of the data Sony sends through it's networks.

creditCard.paymentMethodId=_”CC_COMPANY”_&
creditCard.h olderName=EXAMPLENAME&
creditCard.cardNumber=_”1234567890123456″_ &
creditCard.expireYear=2012&creditCard.expireMonth=_”2″_& ;
creditCard.securityCode=_”123″_&
creditCard.address.address1=_ “EXAMPLESTREET”_%2024%20&creditCard.address.city=_”EXAMPLECITY_”%2 0&
creditCard.address.province=_”EXAMPLEREGION_”%20&
creditC ard.address.postalCode=_”12345_”%20
Everything contained within _”example”_ in the reality is replaced with your actual information. It would be very easy to write this information down, and to exploit it for credit fraud on the internet. They also do not encrypt your PSN accounts.
serviceid=IV0001-NPXS01001_00&
loginid=example@mail. com&
password=examplepassword&
first=true&
consoleid=EX AMPLEID123

Yep that's right, nothing is encrypted. IT IS CLEAR TEST. MOTHER&*$&$(

If you want PROOF I have a source link. I've seen the data myself.

This was two months ago. Plans were in motion long before this. All your information is compromised. PERIOD.

There is no way to fix this, the PS3 as a console has had it's life cut short.

Interesting, but...

What has that got to do with LOTRO?

@Sir Biccy

Maybe he's trying to indicate that Turbine is a little crooked themselves.

I cancelled my subscription over 2 years ago and they kept dinging my account for 6 months. I had spoken to them 3 separate occasions about ending my subscription and refunding my money for services I didn't use. Their position is that I pound sand.

Enjoyed LOTRO for a month or 2 back when it went F2P.

It's a really good MMO but I guess I've just moved beyond finding MMO grinding fun or even being able to do it, so once I hit time where grinding was needed, I drifted away.
