Seems like underground/most wanted... with a story and cast of characters.

I'm easy... I just want something Burnouty. Whoever does that gets my money.

I'm interested, which is more then I can say for any Need for Speed game that's not made by Criterion.

If the cars handle well, this could be a really cool idea for a game.

@Mcmax3000
agreed, hot pursuit is the only good nfs since most wanted in my opinion.
i just hope this is being made by a new developer or even criterion rather than the traditional company EA black box.

@jr0cha - I believe they said a while ago that this fall's Need for Speed game was being done by Black Box.

Hopefully them having quite a while to work on it since they haven't done a Need for Speed game in a couple of years will mean good things.

@Mcmax3000

while it was a long time ago, Black Box did Hot Pursuit 2, my favorite racing game (though admittedly i don't play a lot of racing games). so i'm somewhat optimistic.

NfS is EA's Mountain Dew. Slap a suffix on it. Ship it.

To keep it E for Everyone, I would love for the game to be you take a trailer full of Mountain Dew from Texarkana to Atlanta.

Eastbound and down, we're going to do what they say can't be done.

I thought EA said they didn't want to flood the market with NFS games. I guess not since they've had 2 games in 5 months. this'll make 3 in one year.

Was I the only one who was severely disappointed in Hot Pursuit?

The car handling wasn't good, there were a whole THREE EVENTS to play, the weapons felt weak, and the open environment was utterly useless. And also, leaderboards are a terrible way to keep you coming back to a game; this isn't the mid-80s anymore. I want a lot of content in my game, thank you very much. Hot Pursuit, as a whole, felt like a huge step backwards for the racing genre, and if more racing games take its approach to game design, then count me out.

@OneManFreakShow Didn't do much for me, either. All the cars felt too float-y for my liking, to the point where I ended up powersliding into pretty much any turn.

Plus, I'm one of those codgers who appreciates a splitscreen option (main reason why I've clocked WAY more hours on Revenge and Takedown than I have on Paradise). But I guess that issue's been beaten to death already, so nevermind.

Let me guess;

The goal of the game is go from one side of the US to the other. Who ever gets there first, wins. You can use trains are perks to kill your teammates.

The trip will take 1.75 days to complete, so you can't move from your PC or console.

Have a friend ready to pass the controller/wheel...or else YOU LOSE!!!

Hmmm, gonna have to see more to form an initial opinion.

What I really want is a Hot Pursuit sequel to last year's HP, but with all the stuff that NFS vets had complained was missing from the first, added in. Last year's NFS HP was my first NFS game ever and I loved every minute of my way to Platinum.
