Ubisoft calls on the community to reveal next Assassin's Creed game [update]

Ubisoft is gearing up to reveal the next Assassin's Creed game, launching a teaser site where fans can either e-mail, Tweet or post messages to Facebook to help speed up the unveiling. As of right now, the activity monitor on the teaser site only shows 3% progress, so it would seem we're quite a ways off from an official reveal.

Ubisoft production manager Azaïzia Aymar has been responding to questions on Twitter and generally laying down the fine print: Ubisoft is monitoring all use of the #ACReveal hash tag, though he says to go through the teaser site to ensure that your "action" is tracked.

What do you guys think the new game will be called? We've got a poll past the break, if you're interested.

Update: The teaser site has since been pulled. We'll leave the link in for posterity's sake. (Or the off-chance the site actually comes back online.)

That's what I thought too. Except this isn't play games to unlock the game, this is annoy your friends and acquaintances so that some teasers can be unleashed. Bonkers.

It best be Assassins Creed: Sisterhood! I can imagine a plot device now...Ezio, in order to keep up with his super secret assassinations, decides to get a boob job, since he's so recognizable in the world. It's perfect!

Yes! I'm totally liking the idea of ancient Japan. Ninjas and/or samurai would be quite fun to fight as or against.

I really just think they should take a look at that sanctuary in Monteriggioni and create games off of the assassins in there. Like a game set in Egypt? I think it would be pretty awesome to do a "leap of faith" off the Sphinx, just like it was cool to climb atop famous structures in Italy.

@eat it Desmonds been pretty poor so far but they have to finish the story arc with Desmond, or else the present day climax would be played out through a cutscene.

Hopefully when he gets his skill portfolio beefed up and given a chance to play outside, he'll be fun to use.

If you read the email messages in AC:B; Richard makes a report about the other teams of Assassin's around the world.

One of them is in Osaka. It doesn't have to be about Desmond.

Is it possible to vote not to make any? Not a fan. Bought the first one, thought it was great until half way, then got bored. Bought the second because everyone said it was "so much different", found it to be same crap. People told me "But later on it gets sooooo good." My response "If the developers new the first half of the game was boring, exactly like the first game, shouldn't they have been more proactive about ensuing the game was exciting from the getgo?" Didn't buy the third and definitely won't buy the fourth. "Fool me once..."

I'm really hoping for "Assassin's Creed III: We Promise There's Less Desmond."

I think it's going to be early America and have Masonic / conspiracy undertones. That's my guess anyway.

Everyone's knocking on Desmond, but I've always liked the perspective the present-day segments give to the rest of the game. Well, until the very end of Brotherhood. That was way messed up.

I'm interested to see where they take the story (though I could guess), but I don't feel invested in the story anymore. Which saddens me, as I'd fallen in love with the series as a whole. I just feel betrayed, really, but it won't stop me from playing the next one.

My guess is France. There were French soldiers in AssCreed:Bro, Ezio speaks French and made a comment during one of the sequences about French courtesans, and then there's that whole Merovingian thing they have going on.

Oh yeah, and Ubisoft is a French company.

My guess is that it will all be modern day, no more Animus. The problem is, why not just use a gun?
