Assassin's Creed reveal campaign reactivated, third teaser clip appears

You remember that crazy Assassin's Creed teaser site that Ubisoft briefly launched late last week before pulling it down and pretending nothing happened? Turns out the French publisher is interested in promoting its next AC game after all, as the Facebook posting has reappeared and a trio of teaser videos are now available (found after the break).

The latest of the videos shows what appears to be the first Assassin's Creed's main protagonist, Altair, though the only portion unobscured with distortion is -- naturally -- his hidden blade. Some vaguely Assassin's Creed 1-looking buildings can also be seen in the upper left corner, potentially hinting at a return to the Middle Eastern setting for the next game in the series.

Folks interested in helping speed the reveal process for the next game can choose from a variety of social media-tied means to assist, though the progress bar for the reveal is reflecting just a four percent completion as of right now. While we're really interested in finding out what the next AC game is, we'd never outright suggest spamming your Facebook/Twitter for game reveal countdowns. We'll just say this: Do what you think is right.

There's going to be about 8 of them.

It's Altair standing at Masyaf. There's also some disc full of symbols from Greece or somewhere.

or, you know, wait till E3, when it will be revealed anyway, instead of spamming everyone you know

@BLipp18 Nope. If our intrepid social networkers don't get to work the game will NEVER be revealed! It'll just be titled 'Assassin's Creed: Forever' and be left in development limbo for the rest of time. :(

I just said it :P It says Altair and his last name. Has a picture of him standing at Masyaf and it's a disc from greece I forget how to spell. Shows a bunch of symbols and has never been deciphered.

the disk is from Crete. It's actually Minoan.

I just thought it'd be interesting to post some information that I found on a website about the Phaistos Disk as it's actually really enigmatic.

"The Phaistos Disc is a curious archaeological find, likely dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age. Its purpose and meaning, and even its original geographical place of manufacture, remain disputed, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology. No object directly comparable to the Phaistos Disc has been found. There is, however, a small number of comparable symbols known from other Cretan inscriptions, known summarily as Cretan hieroglyphs. This unique object is now on display at the archaeological museum of Herakleion in Crete, Greece."

I really wanted to love the first game but just couldn't.
Is the 2nd any better?
Did anybody here like them? What did I miss apart from the nice graphics?

@andgreen I didn't like the first game at all but in the last few months played through both AC2 and Brotherhood and loved them. You might even say I was obsessed with them for a few weeks there.

The common consensus is (not my opinion, personally, but what the general populous says): First one is boring and repetitive. Second one is epic. Brotherhood's multiplayer is way better than you think it is, and there' s still a whole lot of great campaign to go with it.

I didn't like the first game at all, just the mobility of the main character felt so fresh and new in a game, but the missions were soooo boring and repetitive, I didn't even finish it, I got to the half of the campaign and that was more than I could bare, I watched videos on how the story ended.

Now #2 was EPIC. It's like a completely different game, forget the gameplay of #1 because this is a totally different thing, and the mobility is even better.

I just recently started Brotherhood, the multiplayer is really really fun and different, and I haven't finished the campaign but it is really really good, just like #2 but with even more gameplay elements, I'm loving it.

Also I believe that you MUST play #2 before playing Brotherhood, you will not regret it (plus #2 is EPIC did I mention that?) and you can watch videos of the story of the first game.

I wasn't as crazy for Altair compared to Ezio... would be nice if you could play as all THREE (with Desmond) in 3 rather than just altair

I also hope this is next year as I haven't even started up my copy of Brotherhood.

Well supposedly Game Informer has a blowout reveal in the may issue. I really hope it's a diffrent assassin and location.

Honestly, I'm sick if theses "teasers" which tease nothing but random mumbo jumbo.

If you look at the code that flashes on the screen in the first teaser all the code ends in MemArchive.ARK. Considering that Altair is in the mix and the more Hebrew and Christian conspiracy roots of the first game I wonder if they are hinting at the Ark of the Covenent? Plus in the second clip there is a flash of writing that looks like maybe Hebrew or Arabic?

It would be nice if someone could translate the arabic text that flashes on the screen. More Altair adventures could be cool.

Yeah for Altair as Assassin

Well, that was informative.

Maybe they're remaking the first AC to make it not suck.
Seriously, AC2 and ACB were some of the best games I've ever played but I've never been more frustrated and upset as when I played AC1.
What a terrible, terrible game.

They announced in january that the games will be released this fall because acb did so well. And the thing is it technically the 4th not 3rd game you cant play The series with out playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood because it continues the story from Assassins Creed 2. For those who wasnt big opn the first i agree a bit i mean i really liked it but theres deff things that needed to be fixed any ways for those that havent played the 2 an 3rd play them both they are worth the cash they are amazing. I hope its a new assassin an kinda hope they allow you to go back to Altair For a bit he kinda needs a better shot hes a good assassin idc really i love them all the series is the greatest an the comics. i am pray n for a lil co-op 2 thatd be sweet i can handle another assassins creed this beats Cod any day this Game has to beat them all and it also needs a better online i wish we could have like cod kinda but we can run around and have all our equipment and have all out sword fights and stuff instead of the stealth i mean still have the stealth stuff but also have a death match one 2 where its 1 team vs another like cod but with swords and hidden weapons and stuff.

Seems Ubisoft has run out of ideas after the Main game designers left the company. Back to Altiar? WTF? There's tons of other eras that could be explored to build upon the historic aspect as well as 'heroes' to base a new ancestor off.

Looks like they're giving Altair a second chance since the first AC wasn't so great. I'd rather we get AC III though, instead of another spin-off.

okay this is getting out of hand... I still havnet finished the first one and they are already making the fourth!

The arabic text is backwards and using the individual forms for all of the letters. It says literally "Altair Son Of The One"..."The One" usually translates here as God.

NO MY FRIEND it says " Altair Son of No one " and not (the one) meaning god, cuz it doesn't make any sense of you think about it
