NintendoWare Weekly: Bit. Trip Runner demo, Rival Turf!

Gaijin Games has made it simple for you to try out its super-hard platformer Bit.Trip Runner, releasing a demo on the Wii Shop today -- just as it has for most of the Bit.Trip games. You should absolutely try this one, unless you get frustrated easily.

Also on Wii today: Rival Turf!, a game that isn't actually very good, but has a distinctive box art that ... also isn't very good.

Bingo Party Deluxe (Ateam, 1-4 players, 500 Points): Bingo in three variations. Collect points to unlock additional content.
Demo: Bit. Trip Runner (Aksys Games, 1 player, 0 Wii Points): CommanderVideo goes platforming in a tightly choreographed, musical action game.

Virtual Console

Rival Turf! (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): A mediocre Final Fight-style brawler.

Anonymous Notes Chapter 2 - From the Abyss - (Sonic Powered, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): More automatically generated dungeon crawling.
Ikibago (Neko Entertainment, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Pirate-themed match-three with barrels.
Picture Perfect Pocket Stylist (505 Games, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Give yourself, your friends, or anything you can take a picture of a new hairstyle.

I remember renting once and over again the only copy of TLOZ:aLttP... then I bought that same copy and I still have it nowadays

There are so many absolute classics that have yet to make the jump to Virtual Console, but we can rest easy that Rival Turf! will never be forgotten.

I think his point was that I forgot the exclamation point at the end of "Rival Turf".

I remember loving Rival Turf when I was about five or six. I'm not sure if it holds up today, but Nostalgia just shot through the roof.

Yeah that's like every lame video game YouTube videogame review with unnecessary cursing and Howard Stern humor except it has text to speech robo voice so it makes it hilarious. It was probably done by a 13 year old who hasn't gone through puberty yet to disguise his voice. Accidental brilliance.

@FriedConsole oh the internet. where people can be assholes because they can. i enjoyed the video. i laughed a lot. i dug the voice, my friend made a video about being a waiter with the same voice. cussing does not offend me, nor does Howard Stern. I found the video funny which is why I posted the link. I must have 13 year old humor. Wait, I retract that....why would a 13 year old in 2011 review a game that came out about 9 years before their birth that really, really sucked? someone in their late 20s/early 30s/maybe 40'ish probably reviewed it. my point is...why are you so angry and wanting to be an ass?

Rival Turf wasn't THAT bad. However, when I was sorta expecting Final Fantasy 3/6 to land today? Christ. I would've rather had them turn my point balance into "LOL".

Anyone have any recommendations for the DSi Shop? I've got 500 points leftover from when I got Inchworm and I don't know what to spend them on.

If that game came out today, I bet it would get a ton of criticism for glorifying being part of a gang and being geared to kids (and rightly so).

Wouldn't want to run into those guys in an alley. I might die from laughter.

The box art screams these guys are ruff and tuff, and are not afraid to be fashion forward.

The leather jackets are provided by Express for men and the tank tops by Gucci.

Head wear by Gap.
