I can't tell whether to buy Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for $14.99 or T. Michael Murdock's new book, The Dragon Ruby, from Amazon ON SALE, as it too has dropped in price from $22.95 to $17.90.
Decisions, decisions.

I was debating whether to get Shift and Undercover or just Shift...
Debated for a while....

In the end, I decided to get Hot Pursuit.

Oh I hate these sales. Well I actually love them. always buy games when there cheap. They're good deals but still cost tons of money in volume. lol So which to buy? Hot Pursuit is awesome but I think I might rather have it on my 360, but it's too costly atm. um...

What are you talking about? First you you want a game that Steam doesn't sale (HP2), then you go off babbling about how these games won't run on Win 7 and some other nonsense. Oh and I've learned my lesson with all these "Steam deals" too. They save you money!

Can anyone tell me if the issue of no anti aliasing with nVidia cards has been resolved with Hot Pursuit?

i'm not sure but i would guess no since i am having some pretty glaring graphics issues with Hot Pursuit right now. the review mirror is totally discolored (everything is blue, gray or yellow) and weird artifacting around bright lights. for what its worth i'm on ATi cards.

Take a look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZsYIEb3oqw&feature=related

Now, I don't own the game but I've been looking at some gameplay videos and I'm seeing the rearview mirror with the same look as you're describing. It's very possible that it was intentional. Probably a pretty unhelpful question, but are you sure that it's not supposed to be that way?

Not sure about the weird artifacting around the white lights, though

@kojo87 - Your "issue" with the rear view mirror isn't an issue... That's how it's supposed to look. It's the same way on consoles.

The colour differences help you quickly tell when there is a racer or cop behind you.

Steam can stick it. I wouldn't buy a game from them seeing as if they disable your account you're screwed and can't play any of the games you've purcahsed. They've burnt me on digital downloads.

So how about just not getting your account disabled? It's not that hard, just act within the same basic rules the entire internet follows.

The issue is that I did nothing. My account information was hacked and they took their sweet A$$ time getting my stuff unlocked. Thank you STEAM! You guys ROCK! (Yes, that's saracasm)

I accidentaly bought hot pursuit while checking to see of my computer was able to run it while I was talking on the phone. I guess this shows how talking on the phone and driving can be distracting.

Hot Pursuit and Shift worked perfectly fine for me. Undercover, on the other hand, was a total abomination. I only recently was able to play it and I've exceeded the requirements for years.

So, relatively speaking, their track record is getting better.

EA/Criterion don't seem to have any intentions on releasing DLC for the PC version of Hot Pursuit, much like how PC users got shafted with Burnout Paradise.

So, yeah. I wouldn't buy it. (It always seems I learn this AFTER the purchase... But I bought it before this sale as well) Why support them when they can't spend a week, at most, porting it to the PC? They clearly don't need our PC money.

It's their attitude that pisses me off more than any false "entitlements" people would like to say PC gamers have. Go figure that we'd like our platform to be supported just as well as consoles. When a PC game gets better support it's somehow righteous and ok for console gamers to get up in arms about it...

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY GAMING FOR ALL!!!!!

you know they say for each positive experience someone has with a product they'll tell 3 different people about it, but for each negative experience they have they'll tell 10. so here goes ...

... too bad these games aren't worth the 1's and 0's they're made of. if they were giving them away it would still be too much. free sh*t, is still sh*t.

the last good need for speed game was porsche unleashed.

In most cases, Steam updates their deals at 10am PST, which is actually 1pm EST. Still a few hours left!

hmmm am I the only one that has a different price on those sales?? since yesterday NFS:HS is 24.99, and not 14.99... maybe that's because I'm in Mexico and EA hates us ):
