Lego Pirates of the Caribbean sets sail May 10, demo out now

Disney Interactive Studios has dated Lego Pirates of the Carribbean: The Video Game for next Tuesday, May 10, and a demo of the title is now available for free download on Xbox Live. The game features Jack Sparrow (of course) and over 70 other characters from the popular films done up in Lego style, and includes content from the upcoming fourth film, On Stranger Tides.

The demo lets you play through the Port Royal level of the game, where, if the other Traveller's Tales Lego games are any indication, the little Lego fellows will collect lots of widgets, jump around like fleas, and explore the various licensed settings in a comedic and mostly nonviolent fashion. You know, standard pirate stuff.

....and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly it's the honest ones you have to watch out for, you never can predict if they're going to do something incredibly stupid.

If this game follows the humor of other LEGO licensed videogame properties, I hope the "pebble crabs" unite into a giant enemy crab boss.

Congress needs to intervene and put a stop to these Lego games. This is getting out of hand.

imagine how easy they must be to make. nothing has to change except for some flat art that you just wrap around simple shapes.

As numerous as they are, they haven't touched Army Men yet.

I am glad that franchise finally stopped. It's not that the early games sucked, but the amount released later on was ridiculous. It was like The Sims of consoles for awhile.

I could not disagree more. My kids love these. Do I play every one that comes out? No. My kids do. The kids in the neighborhood do. Contrary to popular belief... every game is not about you.

Actually, LEGO just began selling toys based on the Cars film(s)? Depending on the license, we could see a Lego Cards game... which would have to take the game franchise in new directions.

How's the demo? I'm buying the 3DS version of this cause it's the only game I have some interest in before Zelda comes out.

Disney Interactive Studio are just plain selfish for not releasing this on PC... What a fricking joke.

@BASARAisAwesome The game is being released on the PC like all of the lego games, not too sure about a demo though but lets hope so because the lego games are awesome.
