How about discounts for something I don't own?

@NaeemTHM I picked them both up for the PC the last time they were on sale.

I had it for the Xbox too but wanted to buy it on the PC since my Xbox died a while ago and I wanted all of my decisions to pass on to ME3. Needless to say, playing ME2 with the default decisions (I.E. Wrex is dead and so is the council) kinda blows, so I bought both of them about two weeks ago at regular price and am playing through them both. Good fun. The one thing I don't like about the PC version of ME1 is that the minigames for unlocking things can be incredibly frustrating. But other than that it's a clear upgrade over the Xbox version. I recommend a buy at this price.

Personally I hate these games, but hey if you're a broke nerd buy these now!

Wish these discounts could be applied to Xbox Martketplace so I could get some of the addons on the cheap. Totally missed the opportunity in December to get the three addons for 200MS points each.

If I didn't already own both on Xbox I would totally pick these up! I've heard good things about the PC version though, nice sale.

Never played either. Now might be a good time to check if my PC can play the original.
Get myself a birthday present I guess.

That's super crappy that it's region locked. I thought Steam was beyond those shenanigans. I can only express my distaste with a sad face. :(
However, it's still available for the discount in Canada, if there are any Shepardless Canadians out there.

Too bad I kind of feel dirty supporting EA and this series due to their inevitable bastardization of ME3 and the hack job that was DA2.

Sucks for you then cause the only one losing out is you. These games are magnificent. the writing and storyline are superb. Anyone who's not going to buy these games simply because they don't like the publisher is gimping themselves. Developers make games great, publishers... well they publish the games.

Yeah, I know these games are quite solid and I really need to play them.
I wish the developer/publisher relationship was so easy, though. Do you really think Dragon Age 2 came out so quickly because Bioware wanted to make a game that fast? EA said: Go make Dragon Age 2. Next year release. Get it done.
Likewise with this situation, I'm sure Bioware had something they thought was totally serviceable, but EA said "Go make it "accessible" (ie stupid)." Not Bioware's choice, and I don't blame them for it, but it's not so easy as a dev going "here's the game we made!" and the publisher saying "Ok we'll get that right out for you!"

Vlad, Dragon Age 2 is far from amazing, the story is boring and disconnected between the 3 acts, as for the characters? Boring, dull, and lifeless. Its obvious every ounce of creative talent throughout the entire dev team was focused on Varric, because he is the only good thing in the game.
And publishers DO have an influence over the developers. It can be rather invasive and destructive as Activision was towards its various groups, or it can be supportive and nurturing. It's obvious though that there was a harsh push to release DA 2 as soon as possible, hence the horrible reuse of art assets.
Fact of the matter is, if you're wanting your game put out there, you either need to bite the bullet and do it yourself, or go through publishers like EA or Acti-Blizz. Of course, if you're only interested in the PC market, then maybe you can get away with doing it yourself, or through steam.

Yes I do. I own a PS3 and a Mac. It's either $60 or no Mass Effect. I'm not paying $60 while everyone else gets it practically free.

Replaying ME on the PC will be a nice pallet cleanse after a day of banging my head against my desk because of the potential LastPass data breach.

Nope, that is not the price. The price is 25 regular, 30 digital deluxe edition. If it was that, I would totally hav it. But I don't. Only bought ME1. Got 1 and 2 on 360 tho.
Posted: May 5th 2011 6:52PM (Unverified) said
I recently bought these games when EA had their own special. I would say I got ripped off, except that I called EA and they game all the ME2 XBOX 360 DLCs that i had previously purchased. It saved me lots of $$$. EA support rocks.

I'd even be happy if they would just ditch the stupid points system. You're a big-boy company now, Bioware. You don't have to sell the PC version's DLC in funbucks.

If pricing was more like this across the board, maybe piracy wouldn't be such a problem.
