Well, that trailer was... I don't know. Why zoom out all the way? Also appearently co-op just means that several players are on screen at the same time. I wish they would've shown some interaction of sorts.

According to this:

http://www.destructoid.com/obsidian-explains-dungeon-siege-iii-co-op-shenanigans-195120.phtml

You can use your own characters. You will get loot, xp, and achievements or trophies, and everything will be saved to your profile. There are also certain awards that can only be obtained in multiplayer.

The game does require you to maintain separate characters for single player and multiplayer. You will not be able to bring your single player characters into a co-op game.

@ampersand
that sux.

I wish they could trash carrying the story when going multiplayer (or had a multiplayer component separate from story co-op). It would be easier to make classes based on the main story characters and make ppl create a character. have some questing missions in different locations based on locations from the story (but different quest to be clear) and have it to where you can gain multiplayer specific loot/gear for that section of the game.

no need to worry about more than one main character at once, ppl gain xp and quest with ppl their level, and since their not held down by a story they can go crazy on the multiplayer part of the game with all the ideas they had to cut because it didn't fit in the story.

-Storymode(solo)
-Storymode(co-op)
-Multiplayer

can't be to hard to implement can it?

I get the feeling that this is just going to make me want to play DS2. The changes necessary to make this game more mainstream and console friendly worry me. But I will play, and I will probably like it enough not to cry about it openly.

At least they out in some real gameplay shots this time with full zoom out--THE WAY PEOPLE PLAY THE FREAKIN GAME. All these shots in trailers lately are zommed in and tilted up.

It was amazing how many people complained that they couldn't co-op for their own gain.

It's too bad that I know no one that's interested in this so that I can make use of the co-op. A pity.
