Your title says "activision" instead of activation. Was that on purpose?

Wow finally, after 1300+ user posts, an awful amount of reports issued and many many conversations with EA customer service, they realized the problem was always on their end..

well I'll be able to play Crysis tonight finally..

Funny, I never heard of a pirate being inconvenienced by Crysis DRM, only valid customers.

Food for thought, EA.

This happened to me last year when I bought Spore on Steam.

EA and Steam don't always play well.

@Jenks

it's an EA problem, it's been happening for quite a while for non steam purchases too i believe.

This type of thing tends to happen with good sales. I can't help but feel that's a good thing, even if it causes slight inconvenience at the user's end. Okay it's good for the publishers, making hella moneys, but bad for the user. Yeah that's better sounding

I bought it while it was on sale, but I still haven't got around to playing it yet. I've just been too busy with finals and stuff to have any time to play anything :(

Glad to hear it's resolved though!

I was about to buy this, but when I saw it had 3rd party DRM (SecuRom and activation limits) I removed it from my cart. Eff that.

@ThatMatthew
Yeah. I've heard from the forums that you can't get those installs back either without phoning EA. And who knows if EA will even return activations in 5, 6 years time?

Such a shame given I'd love to own this game properly.

I don't imagine this applies to the original Crysis? Because I bought that on Friday and haven't been asked for a key once. Spent some time over the weekend killing Koreans with my proprietary Stealth Super Butt Punch maneuver.

this happened for every crysis steam sale. its really popular, and they sell a ton of copies, and steam just hands out the keys, but they arent activated on EAs side yet due to volume

I had no problem playing my copy...except that my GTS 450 couldn't handle the manliness that is Crysis, so I just un-installed the game and will play it when I get a new GPU sometime this summer.

I love Steam with a passion, but they seem to have these issues often when a popular game gets discounted.

They had the exact same problem during the X-Mas sale with Crysis too. EA needs to get their act together.
