Well hopefully his presentation skills are much, much, much, much, much, much better than Cammie's. *horrific flashback to E3 2008*

I don't know why Nintendo hires from outside industries, it really pisses me off.

First of all, they continue to deny anyone within the company the chance to move up, stifling potential greatness.

Second, these people don't give a **** about games and never will now that they're late into their 40's.

Third, they're promoting the idea of a class system by taking people who already have cushy jobs (that they were likely born into and suck at) and keeping them in cushy jobs.

And fourth, have you seen Nintendo's games? They all suck more and more with each passing year. You can say this is subjective, but when was the last Ocarina of Time or Super Mario Bros. 3?

Well, keep hiring stupid soft-drink and donut pushers, Nintendo, I hate you these days anyways.

This post started out semi-reasonable, and then got so dumb, so fast.

I agree with you to a point, but Reggie came to Nintendo the same way. Used to be an exec at VH1 and Pizza Hut, etc... and he's a self-proclaimed Zelda and Metroid geek, so it's not always guaranteed the new execs they bring in will be all non/ casual gamers. Although Cammie and Denise were definitely not the best at what they did. I think it was mostly their fault E3 2008 turned out the way it did.

On the other hand, NoA doesn't really form policy, and they don't make games, either. All they do is localize and sell NCLs products to as many North Americans as possible, and that's really their only function when you get down to it.

And I don't think only hiring middle-aged execs to their company keeps them from promoting from within...I know just since I was old enough to start following videogames around 2000/2001, Bill Trinen and Nate Bihldorff have both moved up the corporate ladder, especially the former.

Food for thought.

So basically, this means nothing to anyone that has owned a Nintendo before 2005?

Here's hoping to a clean, strong presentation. Hopefully this guy has some good ideas and is able to appeal to a slew of new and trusted developers and publishers..

Actually, this hire makes complete sense. Nintendo tries to sell conoles to people who don't play games so a person with no knowledge of them should be able to market it just fine.

So does this imply that Cammie is out? Or is she in a new position?

Please don't let her on the stage again.

Not that this sounds interesting, but then again NOA has been know for being the most stupid branch of the company.
