MUST HAVE.

The original Tribes was the 1st FPS I really got into due to its multiplayer. Ah...memories of online gaming via 56k...oh how I don't miss that 400ping.

@LimitedVertigo Yes, but even back then Tribes was able to have 64 players at one time. I remember being in a hovercycle and suddenly looking up only to watch my teams transport blow up and everyone in it. Between this and BF3 I may just build a PC, but the total cost is what keeps me from doing it.

Nice to see a game that uses the entire color wheel rather than just brown, black and grey.

I've been thinking lately how I've started to mostly abandon multiplayer games. I think that's probably going to end soon.

Oh the fun I had back in college playing Tribes...This looks great, hope it lives up to my completely idealized memory of how it used to work.

there's actually a number of subtle things in the first shot which are quite encouraging for old tribers, but i'll say blocking a quarter of the screen with your weapon isn't going to cut it for situational awareness if they want this game to play as well and as sporty as the first tribes.

@KiraXD
It's called "that game I'm definitely buying". I just hope that hew closer to T1 and T2 than T:V. T:V was a nice diversion, but it was not amazing. At least keep the a T1/T2-ish voice bind system.

Why does the screen shot call it Ascend and everyone else call it Ascent? Have we all just gone to Typo-town?

This looks exactly like what a Tribes game should look like. I'm glad that after the hiatus it doesn't seem to have lost those things that defined its look. Lets hope the feel remains as well!

Visually it looks awesome!

Its not going to matter how good it looks if it doesnt have the freedom and grace of movement within Legions.

like down jets and being able to steer in the air without jets.

any word on this?

Legions has been cursed from the beginning but is the most addictive game I have ever played, the whole idea just needs the right ppl to 'make it so'.

@That One Guy

Not really. They only had jet packs in Reach, and the combat couldn't be more different.

All generic heightmap based terrain with solid grass textures look the same to me.

I'm an old Tribes player, and as a player of Global Agenda, I have to say... I am not impressed. If anything, I am frightened. The second I saw it I was like "... Is that an M16?". But no, apparently it's some new version of the Spinfusor. I... thought disk launchers were flat. This looks like a futuristic Assault Rifle.

Yes yes, I know. I'm nitpicking and whatnot. I have nothing good to say about what Hi-Rez produces. From that shoddy, unoptimized piece of crap Global Agenda, to what I will likely be referring to this game: "This Abortion". Tribes was defined by it's flight feature, skiing, small maps and frantic gameplay, and it's intense modding/map communities. I firmly believe this will not be the case with this game.

They should just make Global Agenda better, or continue that storyline, honestly. It runs like crap on High-End rigs, and could use some fine tuning.
