If you missed Valve writer Erik Wolpaw's talk on Portal 2 at New York University's Game Center lecture series event last Thursday, don't worry -- we've got you covered. NYU has uploaded the entirety of Wolpaw's massive, hour-plus talk and the Q&A session that followed in video form (which we've embedded below the break).

It's pretty cool university's are offering game development-centered courses. I don't have much interest in it myself, but I'm glad to see it incorporated into major universities.

I was an Old Man Murray fan as a kid and meeting Erik at the Portal 2 release party was awesome. He is seriously like one of the funniest people ever.

Thanks for posting this, Ben. I really wanted to attend last week and was unable to do so. Please, Joystiq: continue to tell us about these events at the Game Center! They're a great opportunity for East Coast gamers to see and hear from some industry stars.

Just finished it. Must-watch if you're a Valve fan... Just do something while you've got it on to pass the time.
After I beat Portal 2... since replayability isn't something its big on, I've just been scraping up everything I can for more on it.

If you have an iPad, or access to a friend's iPad you could steal for a night, you should get Geoff Keighley's "The Final Hours of Portal 2" app/book thing (http://www.thefinalhoursofportal2.com/). Lots of interesting back story on the Valve team, and more details on some of those scrapped ideas and other things Erik mentioned here.

Just finished watching it... really interesting inside view of the game. I'd love to sit down and pick his brain even more.

I wish Portal 2 had a content creation system.

Great interview!
I started it up, planning to just watch the first 10 minutes, and come back to it later, but ended up sitting through the full 1:21 without pausing!

Very interesting video. I wasn't sure if I'd be interested after over an hour later, but really interesting, especially once you've played it and know all these references.
You know that Valve is in good hands by the list of games he mentions throughout the video such as World of Goo.
