Dirt 3 trailer throws down in a Gymkhana battle

We've all done it: There's an empty parking lot, not another driver in sight -- why not tear it up? But what if there was another driver and a third party who, presumably, was responsible for setting up a series of intricate ramps and jumps? Well then, you'd have yourself a Gymkhana battle.

I couldn't do most of that stuff by myself, let alone with someone else. I don't really see the draw of it either. Ah well I'm sure someone out there wanted it.

Looks sick! I can see all the amazing videos on youtube already... I might actually have to find someone to play with, dedicated enough to do a vid of my own!

Ok, I'm glad someone linked that scene because that's what I immediately thought of. Faith in humanity, +1.

hopefully this game will do for driving games what skate did for skateboarding games, focus on the basics of what makes the experience fun in the first place. so far they're looking on target.

I wish that stupid gymkhana video had never been made. It was fun the first time I saw it..
But here's your clue train:
Ken Block is a complete jackass. All those videos are spliced together and never one full take. Some of the stunts are dumb as shit and aren't actually difficult. Whats hard about driving over lightbulbs?
Just so you know, Ken Block is the clown idiot of the rally world. He constantly wrecks on every course. Look at the USA standings right now: HE'S NOT EVEN IN THE TOP 10.
He is a terrible driver and he ruined dirt. Dirt should be about rally, not this parking lot BS.

HEY!! Let's not lose sight of the fact that this is still going to be a primarly a Rally game. The devs themselves say that 60% of the career mode will be rally. The rest will be divided up between Hillclimb, Rallycross, Rally Raid, this Gymkahna stuff and whatever else they feel like throwing in there. Thats a more rally focused game than even the original DiRT. And the selection of cars is going to be pretty huge too, to include the RWD of the late seventies and the epic Group B of the mid eighties. These X-games gymkahna videos are mainly for americans who can't or don't appreciate the finesse and skill required for rally. I had been worried about the direction of the game, but I've seen some you tube clips that show just how much thought they've put into the rally expeirience:
