Prepaid is the way to go! Never use your credit card!

It's probabally safer to buy from Nintendo using your CC then from Bestbuy. I've gotten like my third e-mail saying bestbuy's CC processing company was hacked.

I just never leave my house, myself.

Not worth the risk. I'd much rather cower in fear of what might happen. =/

I prefer using my credit card, if only for the $10 increments. And I totally agree with Softserve's point. Four hundred points left on my Wii and 100 on my DSi? Gosh, wouldn't it be wicked cool if one could somehow combine the two balances? If only there was some sort of electronically connected infrastructure...

Cash doesn't work real good when it comes to online things, especially credits for online shops like this.

Yeah! Soon I will be able to download shovelware directly to my 3DS! Seriously, Nintendo come on with the games!

I still really don't understand why they need something that handles this that's totally separate from the Wii and original DS. I think my points should be good across the board.

@Softserve

I think theyre trying to distance themselves from most everything they've done online previously. Rebrand themselves in the online space essentially.

Which makes sense, since outside of the VC, everything theyve done online has sucked.

I'm glad that this time they're giving other devs more breathing room, as the size restriction from the Wii/DSi Ware is removed. That's definitely a good start.

Would appreciate if you'd just rebrand all online currencies of Nintendo into one currency, and let anyone who has linked their Wii and 3DS to their Nintendo Club account simply use the same points across both platforms. Really would encourage me to spend more points in all honesty as not yet eager to go spending money on more points when still about 1500 on my Wii.

Does anyone know whether American credit/debit cards were able to purchase Japanese Wii/DSi Points on those systems? It could give a clue as to how my Japanese 3DS might handle my American debit card.

More then likely not as most Japanese auth servers don't take the time to set up American card authorization if it's supposed to be regional only. Like PSN.

Gotcha. Well I'll hope for the best but I suppose I'll be importing a few of these cards, haha.

In case anyone's wondering, I like to play games in Japanese as part of my study of the language, so I picked up a 3DS while I was in Japan earlier this year.
