Hitman: Absolution using 'Avatar' mo-cap tech, hollywood actors

Hollywood Reporter has managed to sneak in a few questions to IO Interactive game director Tore Blystad about the forthcoming Hitman: Absolution, and got an earful back about the development process. "We've designed a more stylized, more serious, and darker game this time around in both the story line and the visuals," Blystad told HR.
Blystad also revealed that his studio employed Giant Studios for the game's motion capture -- the same studio that James Cameron used for Avatar -- and that Keith Carradine (Cowboys & Aliens) and Marsha Thomason (White Collar) will be voicing two main roles. Carradine is Agent 47's antagonist this time around, while Thomason will act as 47's handler. Blystad's betting that the theatrical approach his studio is taking to voice acting and motion capture will dovetail nicely into the next Hitman film. "The hope is that the movie will be going in a similar direction, and then when they both come out they will speak the same language," he said.
In Absolution, Agent 47 finds himself on the run from police while simultaneously hunting "his most dangerous contract to date." As promised, more details will be revealed next month at E3.

As long as it doesn't make the game as bad as the first film, I'm all for it.

Man, I'm so easy.
A 15-second teaser and a media blurb about the game-tech and I'm squealing like a Japanese schoolgirl.

Hollywood Motion Capture artists. So there are going to be character models with Kurtwood Smith's forehead or Reese Witherspoon's chin?

I just hope to hell they don't mocap Carradine's ass into the game.

Whatever, he was banging super-hot Debra Morgan.
But in any case, Keith Carradine has a pretty bad-ass voice (his psycho-killer turn in Criminal Minds was pretty rad), so this should be cool.
I've never really played any of the Hitman games, but I'm certainly willing to give this a shot.

So, Thomason is simply a recast for Diana...
In fact, I'm starting to get concerned about the whole thing. Be more like the films? Ugh. Hitman is not about the story. Agent 47 is not supposed to have emotions. These people are not bloody filmmakers; focus on the damn gameplay!
And if they dare replace David Bateson, I'm kissing this series goodbye. I really, really hope I'm wrong on this one.

I thought it was abysmal. The games, however, are part of one of my favorite series.

"his most dangerous contract to date."?,Can't really see how it can get anymore dangerous than entering the white house and killing the vice-president.

Just please not Timothy Olyphant.
Let me stay on Justified (which, by the way, is a fantastic show!)!

I thought Olyphant did a good job with the character....it's too bad that the story was pure garbage. And justified has turned out to be the Man soap opera I've been craving since Sopranos ended and Brotherhood was prematurely concluded by Showtime.....I hate them, except they do have Dexter...so I only hate them a smidge.
