Gears of War 3 Limited and Epic Edition extras revealed

Listen, everyone -- your desk simply isn't intimidating enough. What you need, what you've got to have is an 11-inch statue of a muscle-bound future-marine. That's just one of the many, many bonuses include in the $150 Epic Edition of Gears of War 3; a monstrous package that encapsulates the aforementioned statue; a 96-page book penned by Tom Bissell (author of "Extra Lives") about the art and design of the shooter; an "Octus Service Medal;" and everything else pictured above. (Is that Adam Fenix's will? It certainly is.)

Shoppers will also have the option of purchasing the game's $80 Limited Edition, which includes the Service Medal, a COG flag, some Fenix family documents and an exclusive Adam Fenix multiplayer skin. Limited edition for me If I still get $20 Amazon preorder credit. Then again, i played the Gears 3 beta more than most retail games I own so nm. Epic will be getting my money that's for sure.

I find that a breath if fresh air. Dropping in a cheap DVD made from a shaky cam and stuttering staff members is a cop out. Better to use the resources paying the cameraman and editor on better swag.

Besides, once you've seen one making of, you've seen them all.

My thoughts exactly. I got the standard Reach at launch, and the LE version around Xmas when it hit $70 on Amazon. No regrets there though, that Noble Team statue is B-A-D!

Agreed. I really don't see the point of paying 150 dollars for any LE. They always drop to around 70 or 80 dollars within a month or two.

Apparently, due to the hand painted statues, the Epic edition will be genuinely limited to a low number, though I appreciate your scepticism.

Yep, the Halo: Reach statues were "hand-painted and numbered". Hand painting can be a very quick and cheap thing to have done.

Well, that's kinda cool. I have a "no more gaming promo/LE crapola in my house rule" but I recently ended up with a curio cabinet in my office at work and my Big Daddy is looking awfully lonely in there...

To bad they could not put the weapon skins in the limited addition. I refuse to pay 150 bucks. O_o However I would pay 80 if it had the skins. Oh well! Still going to be a damn fun time.

Not sure if want. Already got my pre-order for Epic Edition in place just in case, but was hoping for something better. That and I fear that they might change the gameplay from the beta for the worse, rather than improve it...

Only thing in Epic I want is the weapons skins. If the statue was Dom I'd buy it! Other than that, Limited Edition's perfect for me! Also cheaper than I was expecting

@baby sea tuna yup I don't know how much it will last but if I was you an easy way to get this 100 kills for the gold lancer is in KOTH. I popped gears1 in today, feels like an Xbox1 game compared. gears2 is just way too slow and laggy. This is the best Gears ever.

Epic Edition is a let down. I wanted book ends, and lambent locust MP skin. But 70 bucks for a statue, art book, and weapon skins i probably wont use isnt worth it.

Bought the L.E.'s of the first 2 games but will be passing here. Some people like statues, or medals, or whatever. But I'm an art book guy. And the last 2 limited edition art books have sucked real bad. Containing mostly cg scenes with a story synopsis. Why can't more people take a cue from the Fallout 3 Limited Edition? Know that was a great art book filled with ::gasp:: ART!!

Would love the statue, but I really don't see myself spending that much. I love Epic and the work they do, but the art book will end up sitting on a shelf somewhere and that amount for some weapon skins doesn't really sound that great for that price. LE for me. If I had money to spend, I would get the Epic Edition.

Was kinda hoping for a Thrashball Cole statue. Wasn't huge into the MP on the first two, but for some reason, I loved the beta, and can't wait for number 3.

This is definite a first day buy just for the game alone let alone a great statue that is hopefully not as plastic-y as the Halo Legendary but at 4 pounds Marcus is going to be SOLID!!

@Dale P Thats what happens to me too i don't like killzone yet i bought the helghast edition, i never really cared much for infamous yet i paid off the hero edition already

Was hoping they were going to release another Lancer replica, since I missed out in Gears 2.

Already had money down on the Epic Edition.

i found out about the Epic Edition of Gears of War 3 this afternoon & i charged that MOF to my CC quick as hell, now i just have to wait . hate waiting

Nothing must-have for me. I'm not paying $20 just so I can play as Adam Fenix in MP (I'm not interested in the other stuff) and I'm certainly not buying the statue. If they offer the weapon pack as DLC I'll consider it assuming it looks cool, but otherwise I'll just save some cash and get the regular edition.
