Looks rough, but I like that it resembles Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

@Co

I see the resemblance, but from this quick glance it looks a little too much like Homecoming for my tastes. Pretty sure nobody wants a repeat of that.

How does that look anything like Homecoming? There is zero resemblance.

Easy boys, I didn't say the game looked bad. I'm hoping for the best.

@denver
Fair enough, I guess I don't see any good comparisons to Homecoming, but it doesn't really remind me of the excellent Shattered Memories either. From the teaser: it's raining in the middle of the woods, there is no flashlight to be seen, and it has melee combat with wooden chairs. I'm just not seeing the comparison. Well, except for Alan Wake, which is good.

Yeah I dont see the Shattered Memories resemblance at all either. But just thought Homecoming was an odd visual comparison to this.

@denver

The first and last snippets of game play shown remind me very much of Shattered Memories. Minus the flashlight of course.

@Mikekan13 I thought Homecoming was pretty good, I just shouldn't have gotten it on the PS3 because I never play it but I have all my Silent Hill games on Playstation.

Not a great preview but it's nice to see it.
I think things should come together rather nicely with this.

Also considering this game has a heavy focus on rain that's awesome.
Rain in video games is so awesome, yet never really used effectively.
Also snow falling is great stuff too.

Thats why it's called a teaser, not a "satiater".

This one is a pass for me. I really think the Silent Hill series is pretty much dead now.

@FinalFantasyXIIIsucks

And you could tell all that from a 30 second teaser?

@denver I'm basing that off of my previous Silent Hill experiences as well as the above footage. Homecoming was an awful, terrible game. Origins was no better. Also, I really didn't like Shattered Memories one bit. In other words, every SH game after 4 has pretty much sucked balls to me. It's sort of like my experience with Ninja Theory. I hated Heavenly Sword and when Enslaved was announced, I really wasn't excited for the game. When I actually did play it, I didn't enjoy it at all. Now, with the announcement that they are working on a new Devil May Cry title, my expectations for the game are about the same for an upcoming Ube Boll movie.

@FinalFantasyXIIIsucks

Brand new dev team and new Producer, its a bit unfair to tag them with the past games you didnt like (Homecoming and SM). Id say give it a chance before you rule out the series completely.

@denver Each game following SH 4 had its own development team and producer, yet they still failed to deliver a solid experience. Having yet another team work on a Silent Hill game does little to make me feel better about this one. In fact, that adds to my already existing feeling of reservation toward this newest Silent Hill. The only way that I can see this series making a positive turn around is if the original teams that worked on the first four games make another one. Until then, I'll view each new entry in the series with a massive amount of skepticism.

That first monster was creepy. Oh that was the producer. "Have a seat!" *whack* Wait is this Silent Hill or WWE? Oh well, time to lay the smack down Charles Eames style.

*Puts on dork glasses* A REAL Silent Hill fan would have the Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 as the toy figure in the background.
