That's funny....pretty much everyone is saying it performs and looks better on the PS3 version.

"I own both the PS3 and the Xbox and I would never buy a game for the PS3 unless it's exclusive. "
That is the dumbest sentence I've read today.

@maxxgold See, I gotta take this comment with a grain of salt because unless there are some gameplay differences (like the PS3/360 version and Wii Version of Force Unleashed), I find it hard to believe that anyone who own the same game for two different consoles.

Wow... just wow. There have been many games that have been the same, if not better on PS3, and many that have been worse. A lot of it is just going to come down to the dev studio behind the game and their individual choices during development.

Both the PS3 and 360 are great gaming machines all around.

this has actually been reported on the 360 too.
Anyway, while it is generally true that multiplatform games run better on the 360, there are some notable exceptions. Your comment seems a bit biased. Personally, I use a PC for my primary gaming platform. So I don't consider myself a fanboy of either console (but I do own both)

Nahhh. You are taking from your arse. Lately games are made very similar and in some cases, even better on the PS3.

Recent examples uncludes:

Dead Space 2
Castlevania:LOS
LA Noire
Mortal Kombat 9
Brink

And many more to come. What you said was true in 2007-2009, but after that, the multiplaform games are pretty much the same on both consoles and like I said, some are better on the PS3.

The reason most multi-platform games are better on 360 as opposed to PS3 is because they are developed for 360 and ported to PS3. The reason for this is because a game developed for PS3 will not be able to play on the 360 because the PS3 has more advanced hardware. (Though I do question how much more advanced it is at times.)

Any game that is developed for PS3 first has to be scaled down and usually ends up being worse on 360. Case in point Final Fantasy XIII. While not much of a difference, there is a difference.

All you have to do is look at exclusives for both systems. They tend to be amazing, presentation wise, because they are not being developed for one system and then shoehorned into another's specifications.

p.s. I own a PS3, a 360, and a Wii.

Protip: Owning multiple consoles doesn't automatically make you immune to being a fanboy.

Anyone remember Shoko/Shokio? He would vehemently defend the Wii to the extreme and when he got called out for it he said "but I own a PS3 and 360 too and the PS3 is my favorite system!" Then one year after E3 he started bashing Sony and Microsoft pretty badly, did a half-apology afterward, and finally released a video saying, "So, I guess by now you can tell the Wii has been my favorite console this entire gen. I mean, look at how many videos I have of it! It's so much better than all the others!"

@maxxgold Hey guess what? I own both a PS3 and X360 and I still think you're a 360 fanboy with you're dumb statements. You even said yourself that you only have a ps3 for the console exclusives. I haven't played L.A. Noire personally yet (getting it soon though) but I've looked into this and everywhere says the PS3 plays it better. I plan on confirming that within the next week when I get my hands on the game.

However, with that out of the way Mrblonde57 never said which version he has. For all you know he has the 360 version and is complaining about it. But no, you're a fanboy and instantly think "Graphical problem? Must be ps3! My fanboy logic is perfect!"

So go away and take your console wars with you. Despite how much you and the other fanboys want it not to be, the console wars have been over for a long time. If the devs put in the effort then the game will be the exact same on both consoles.

@ everyone feeding the troll

To the people saying the reviews and reports indicate it looks better on the PS3; they said the same thing about GTAIV, but it wasn't exactly true. While the 360 version suffered from dithering, the PS3 version was indeed more blurry. So it was more of a personal preference thing between blur or dither. Therefore, neither actually looked better than the other, just slightly different.

The people who question why one would have a game on both consoles; they normally didn't buy it for both consoles. Modified 360 dvd drive firmware is a very common practice.....

To anyone who dared to say a few multi-platform games looked better on the PS3......drugs are bad, mmmkay. On par, you bet your sweet ass. Better, no way in hell.

Well, I've only played it on PS3, and my friends on 360 (if it isn't an exclusive, I purchase it for whatever platform was the native development platform,so in this case PS3), and while none of us have had any problems with load time or other "hiccups", we've noticed that it looks a lot prettier on the PS3.

Of course, if you or others don't want to take my word for it, you can always go over to lensoftruth.com and compare the side-by-side screen caps.

i own both as well. and i do only buy exclusives for PS3 now. but saying its lackluster in performance seems just wrong. i perfer X360 for games because of the other hiccups i experience with PS3. PSN issues, not remembering game save data, long loads, having to restore it numerous times.... all valid reasons, but nothing related to gameplay/performance.
its simple really:
PS3 = GT5, LBP, MLB The Show
X360 = everything else not exclusive to PS3

"The PS3 is lackluster in performance. Anyone that has played games on both systems will be able to tell you the same."

...I thought the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 e-peen flamewar being fought by tech illiterate peons who selectively cite hardware specifications without having the faintest clue about what they actually mean had been over for years; shame on you for proving otherwise.

"Sorry but 256 mb + 256 mb on the Sony is not as powerful as the 512mb of the Xbox 360."

It's not an issue of power, you dolt, it's an issue of resource allocation; unified memory is generally easier to completely utilize than a split memory configuration because it requires less overhead. From a hardware level, there are instances where said split-memory configuration can be advantageous to a single unified chunk of RAM; you can utilize low latency, high bandwidth memory for the components that require it (the GPU) while using slower, cheaper memory for the parts that aren't nearly as dependent on having large amount of bandwidth (the CPU). Each memory subsystem has its pros and cons but, in the end, one isn't outright superior to the other. The developers who tackled the additional overhead of the PS3's memory setup FIRST have released games that are identical on both HD consoles; those who took the easy route saw obvious compromises in image quality and performance in their games.

I could spend hours explaining the various pros and cons of each HD console hardware choice to you, but I won't because 1) you won't understand any of it and 2) no amount of truth drilled into your thick skull is going to change you opinion.

I have the opposite problem. My hands have become so accustomed to the Sony style controller over the last three generations, that the Xbox controller feels fat and bulky to me. If it weren't for the hassle of cords, I'd totally buy a second party Xbox controller that didn't feel so clunky.

However, now that I own both, if it isn't an exclusive I look at which console it was developed for, and choose accordingly. Usually less hiccups and better graphics on whatever the native platform is; even if my fingers sometimes hate me for it.
