Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One arrives on Oct. 18, pre-order bonuses detailed

Four friends, armed to the teeth with an enormous arsenal of weapons, may be sufficient to overcome Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One's menagerie of levels, but wouldn't it be helpful to have an extra Mr. Zurkon hovering overhead? The trailer we've dropped after the break answers that question with a resounding "YES," showing off Mr. Zurkon and the other three pre-order bonuses that folks will pick up at various (sigh) retailers.

Alongside the pre-order news, Sony announced that Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One will launch on October 18, living up to its previously noted "Fall 2011" launch window. That leaves just five months to decide where to pre-order -- but let's not kid ourselves, you're gonna go with Zurkon. It's just the right thing to do.

This is really neat. The PS3 is severely lacking in the 4 player co-op games department, and this might be just the ticket.

@picxel Uhh... I might be missing something, but what game? When I think of the most popular 4 player co-op games, I think of Left 4 Dead 2, Halo, and a whole list of Nintendo games. He's right, the PS3 needs more 4 player co-op. :D

I was thinking this would be the first I'd ever preorder from Walmart until I watched the video... The sheep doesn't look anything like the ones from the classic sheepinator. :S

Amazon isn't really an option for me, so I guess I'm going with Mr. Zurkon.

Chances are, as with all other Ratchet pre-order bonuses, all of these weapons are still in the game...I got a little worried for a second as I love me some Mr Zurkon. Looks like I will likely be getting the T-Rex Morph Mod as Amazon has been stepping up the pre-order credit.

If you watch the video they just say early unlock of the weapons, so they should all be in the game.

At E3, they will be announcing a hip hop edition for this game. Instead, you will play as Jay-Z, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. All the music will be replaced with rap songs and it'll be rated M because of the curse words. Just a sneak peak because i love my Joystiq companions!

Whatever it is you're trying to do here, you're doin' it wrong.

This pre-order crap needs to stop. I should not have to choose between sociopathic robots, little dinosaurs, flamethrowers, and sheep. All of those things should be on the disk.

@Jovrick They are. You will just have to, gasp, play the game to unlock them.

Personally I don't mind have bonuses for pre-ordering, it rewards people who really like the game.
That said, having different bonuses at different retailers is BULLSHIT!
I feel sorry you guys in the US who have to deal with that shit.

From the video and the word "early weapon unlock" I'm assuming they are all in the game, the pre order bonus just allows you to have it from the start rather than getting it at the point in the game you normally would

these are just early unlocks. you will unlock them all as the game progresses

@Jovrick The pre-order bonus only include EARLY access to the weapons, even if you dont pre-order the game you can still get the weapons you just have to earn them the old fashioned way and unlock them.

Just to inform everybody, all the weapons are in the game.
What these "exclusive" pre-orders give you is essentially a cheat code to unlock it earlier in the game. All the other weapons are still there, and you can unlock them later on, like you've always had to in Ratchet and Clank games.

I'm playing the absolute hell out of A Crack in Time right now, I can't say no to more Ratchet & Clank. Haven't been too familiar with news around this one so I'm not too sure about how it's different from the previous titles, but I'm sure I'll pick it up.

Obviously, story isn't *too* important in these games but I can't help but wonder what I missed out on in A Quest for Booty...

Quest for Booty was actually really decent. I highly recommend getting it.

Sweet. Mr Zurkon's definately one of my favorite weapons from the ratchet series. Infact any of the floating companions are awesome. But his insults are immense.

Anyone remember that one which turns into a pheonix and kamikaze's into enimies?? Yeah. Awesome.

Although i still have a problem with the camera angle. I understand its for the whole "everyone on the screen at once + epic scripted events" but i've always prefered the freedom of combat in terms of things i can do, places i can go and tatics i can use. Panning the camera around at 360 degrees whilst strafe side-jumping obliterating the horde of eneimes passing through my Tesla Spikes with my Dual Raptors? Yes please.

Still trying to get a hang of the Tesla Spikes right now, suppose they get silly good after leveling up to 5?

I just wish they would give it a rest on the sixaxis controlled weapons, I hate those. The Dynamo of Doom blows and so did the Tornado one from Tools of Destruction.

Agreed! I thought I was the only one that had those problems. I gave up trying to level the sixaxis weapons to the max.

I agree; whilst its cool they're trying to put it to good use Sixaxis isn't the best of things regardless what you do with it. Although Level 5 Tesla Spikes and the dynamo of doom are a force to be reckoned with when used in conjunction.

Wont come near the triangle of tesla spikes? Thats ok. Because that charged Dynamo of Doom is heading your way whilst i sneakily switch to my Avenger (that was the name of the RPG type weapon in there correct? can't remember...)

Damn, Sony has a lot of exclusives releasing this holiday season.

I hope Sorcery gets dated as well.

Oh and yeah. Pre-order incentives in a Ratchet and Clank game.. On the WEAPONS!?!? You pretty much play R&C games to mess around with the awesome weapons they provide...

This is like having a pre-order incentive on a GTA game and only once you stick to a certain retailer will you be able to go on phychotic rampages. Or the police will only chase you if you pre-order with [insert retailer here]. Or a Mario game where the mushrooms are only availble when you purchase the game from Gamestop. Sorry... what?

Skins, figurines, soundtracks, special phepherials (headsets/ controllers) thats kind of stuff is fine. But limiting the aspects of which DEFINES a specific game/franchise to specific retailers. Thats a no-no. Hell if i never got the Black Hole gun because i pre-ordered from the wrong store all hell would've broke loose.

Oh harsh. Im so used to these situations meaning they're locked for other players until they're released for free or something.

Apologies for the outburst and thanks for the enlightenment that Joystiq didn't provide from the offset. Makes it alot more reasonable. But my point still stands. Not liking pre-order incentives unless they're the things i've listed.
