X-Men Destiny grants Grant new powers

The latest screenshots of Silicon Knights' X-Men Destiny show off some new mutant abiilities, including some kind of earth-shaking punch, rock arms (identified as "density control") and ... some blue sparkles or something.

They're modeled by "Grant," a college kid who just wants to play for Berkeley's "Varsity Squad" but instead finds himself destined to have awesome superpowers. Looks like he's going to skip the Varsity Squad and go straight into the Major Leagues of beating up henchmen. The perks of this new lifestyle include a private jet and being called "bub."

I would rather have made my own character instead of being forced to play as a character I'll inevitably end up hating.

Eh, but I said the same thing about Cole McGrath before InFamous.
And who knows, this may be like Harley Quinn, a major Batman character, who got her origin from a cartoon.

as a nerd who loves comics and video games the last person i want to be in a video game is a wanna be jock.

Still I'm looking forward to this game, I loved Legends.

Synchronized tracksuits always spell disaster even before a beatdown from a super mutant.

I'm not interested in playing X-Men Density.

Let's not be too harsh on a game that hasn't came out yet.........eh......who am I kidding.

The only x-men game I thought was done really well and that I enjoyed was X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Yeah, they announced an MMO in which you can play as part of a huge cast of Marvel characters. I'm actually okay with that.

These screens were harsh on the eyes, or maybe i'm just old. I''m not stubborn to the point where i cannot accept new design for old characters but-but this guy, and and, ninjas donning Final Fantasy 8-13; garb wielding shock sticks and baseball players from the year 2055.

Couldn't have said it better. ^ The levels of ridiculousness in character design already turn me off badly. X-Men, is the last thing to pop into my head when seeing them.
