@bobdisgea - Yeah. I kinda blame myself for not reading the DLC descriptions, but I bought all of the unlocks, as well. Hey, it was in a pack with a discount, so no big deal, but I would've preferred to have unlocked everything on my own.

@Roxas560

I'm the opposite. Inferno Titan would be perfect in my mountain deck, but I don't have a PS3. Neither do I have a deck to use the other two cards in even though I have both an Xbox 360 and Steam.

I guess I'll just forgo getting the game right away, and wait for the Steam version to go on sale.

I hope that it'll allow you to create your own decks from any card in the game. And a real card as a bonus is nice. :)

Steam version aside, buying the game on 360/ps3 and getting one of those cards is worth it alone.

I bet that'll bring those cards down in value though... Too bad they don't do that with primeval titan.

@Youthinized - I don't know how many of any given rare actually exists, but I'd actually expect these to be worth a decent amount over time, depending on how few/many people actually redeem the offer. They're not spectacular cards by any means, but wouldn't they be worth something if they weren't very common?

While it'll never happen, I think that it'd be awesome if they gave away Moxes for an offer like this. I don't even care if they're worth next to nothing. I just want some damn Moxes. XD

There's some guides out there on how to make proxy cards. I've thought about doing this for Time Walk and things like that, only to play around with them with my friends, since they wouldn't mind the first couple of times.... But I'm sure they'd get pissy after awhile how I'd be 10 turns ahead of them by turn 4-5!

@kevinski

The cards are all branded with an icon relating to the fact that they are from this games bonus.

That should in theory mean that it wont effect the price of actual cards.

Hell if you look up Garruk from the original xbox version and he's selling for more then the actual card.

By the way, just to clarify, does each card come with one platform's version of the game? I'm curious as to which of the three cards I'd get if I bought this on Steam. Or would I just have a choice of one of the three?

@kevinski
i was under the impression that it was
Grave Titan (XBLA), Frost Titan (Steam) and Inferno Titan (PS3)

being able to choose would be much better tho

@Roxas560 - Hmm...if we don't get a choice, then I'm hoping that the available cards are handled in the way that you mentioned. I was kinda torn between the black and blue cards, but I could see the blue card being kinda useful in a counter deck. I kinda wonder if one person can redeem several codes on Steam for multiple cards if he/she gifts copies to other people.

Each platform has it's own card, you don't get to chose.

According to Wizards of the Coast, you won't have to mail in anything to get your cards. Instead you'll use the in-game code to print out a voucher that you'll take to your local participating game/card shop instead.

Agreed, I'd much rather have the old system with them mailing the card to me.

I don't need to be able to make completely custom decks, but if you can't even customize individual decks outside of the cards that you've unlocked like in the first one, then I don't think I'll be picking this up.

I don't know about you guys, but I loved the original Duels of the Planeswalkers from the 90s. Does anyone know if we can create our own decks in the new one? It's a feature sorely missing from a lot of the recent magic the gathering games...

Didn't the first one come out in 2009, not 2010?

I remember thinking it would be cool to play it, since I haven't played much Magic since my high school days. Then I heard that you couldn't build decks from scratch, so I looked into MtGO instead. After shortly realizing that I would have to start over and that I was never going to come close to matching my physical collection, I gave up on that as well.

I sometimes think it would be fun to get back into Magic, though I'm not sure I want to re-invest in it. It's not the cheapest hobby, especially when I get carried away and buy a bunch of singles. :P

@Churchbus Yes, it was 2009. I hope the article is edited as it's misleading people into thinking that they are going to do yearly iterations of this as some kind of cash grab. First game was a lot of fun, but unless there a bunch of changes to this (all new cards?), I'm not sure I need it as well.

@(Unverified) It's been well established that the point of these games is not to compete with MTGO, so can we let it go?

I used to play the card game about 15 or 16 years ago (wow it's been that long?) But I quit because I didn't have any frieds that played and because it was too expensive. I bought the first duels of planswalker on 360 at release. There was a code you could use and they mailed you a card. As soon as I got that thing I put it on Ebay and got 10 bucks for it - making the game free. I hope this works out like that as well....except that I have to get it in a local shop that will probably 'be all out' for anyone other than the employees and friends? I don't like the sound of that, wotc needs to do another mail out.

Wait, I'm a little confused. Are those three cards in the game as well? Or are they only available in physical form?

Friends and I redeemed 3 each for the last ps3 game. Wonder if that'll work with the 360 version while only buying it once.
