More like Spec Ops: The Wait, am I right?
Much like that joke should have been, Spec Ops: The Line has been pushed back way, way, deep undercover -- like, first half of Take-Two's fiscal 2013 deep -- as revealed in the publisher's earnings report today. For the fiscally challenged among you, that means the game won't appear on store shelves until after March 2012 at the very earliest (it's been pitched into an April–September 2012 release window).
Oddly, the game was in beta as of last fall, so we can only imagine whatever's happening now is a significant overhaul.

Dealyd should be delayed unless I'm missing something.
Also playing the beta this Is a good thing.
That component of the game was really rough and definetly needed a lot of work.

It really didn't look that interesting. Soldiers in the Middle East yet again. Didn't seem to have any unique elements to draw you in.

Its ironic I was just wondering the other day whatever happened to this game as well as that Bodycount game that everyone seems to have forgotten about as well

@TheDarkWayne Codemasters stuck an ambiguous 2011 date on it almost a year ago and havent said a word about it since. Ever since Black left the project we havent heard anything else about it!

Sadly, this isn't the first sign of trouble. Executive Producer Greg Kasavin had been the mouthpiece for 2K on this game until he quietly disappeared and jumped ship. (Or, perhaps more insidiously, was forced to walk the plank.)
This game has been facing an uphill battle since day one.

@Architecture
Its kinda sad seeing as this is one of the only games doing detailed sand physics. There is some potential here, its just not being realized.

Oh that sucks, I was actually looking forward to this game. I love me some third person shooters.

I played the beta for awhile.
It really wasn't that good. Boring even. The whole "sandstorms change the layout of the map" thing was barely noticeable. And I swear I got teabagged like three times.
A better name would be Ghost Recon: Sand Edition, or something like that.

The beta was truly wretched - ugly PS2 graphics and annoying controls.

As a TPS fan, this kinda sucks!
Socom4, delayed for 4-5 months, (comes out and is a massive dissapoitment, IMO of course)
Ghost Recon, meant to come out last fall, pushed to 2012
SpecOps the line, also slated for fall 10 or early 11 (not sure), bam pushed back to 2012.
Sure theres Uncharted and Gears coming, and those will both probably be great games, but more realistic/tactical shooters... aint much of those around.
