Aliens Infestation has been classified by the Australians for publisher Sega and developer WayForward Technologies. The rating makes no mention of platform. Previously, we were aware of WayForward working on a DS companion game to Aliens: Colonial Marines, but there's no clear indication from the classification that Infestation is that game.
Sega's experimentation with the xenomorphs has gotten messier than a chest-bursting at dinner, so here's where things currently stand from what we can gather: Gearbox is working on Aliens: Colonial Marines, The Creative Assembly (Total War) is working on some Alien IP, and WayForward is working on Aliens Infestation. An Aliens RPG was canceled back in 2009, even though developer Obsidian felt it had made worthwhile progress.

One thing is for certain; the perfect Alien game has not yet been made. (Actually Dead Space has come closer than any of the actual Alien games)
I'd love to see more of a survival-horror take on the franchise, preferably in third person p.o.v. and with aliens that are scary and damn hard to kill, as opposed to the whack-a-mole target fodder we have been shown thus far.

Love the Aliens franchise. Aliens vs. Predator was awesome in 1999. This will probably suck because of the four letter word S-E-G-A. SEGA has had great games in the past but now SEGA on the box usually is a sign that it will suck.

@FriedConsole Ugh SEGA on the box is no sign that the game will suck. Look at Bayonetta, Vanquish and Total War. Granted SEGA hasn't been the best developer as of late (actually for a long time now) but automatically stating that having the SEGA logo on the box means the game will suck is downright...

"Aliens. They say their structural perfection is matched only by their hostility, even artificial persons are impressed."

My little brother was looking up videos of an Alien game that was supposed to be released for DS and it had this badass song on the gameplay video.
I have faith that the Gearbox and Creative assembly won't be the same old bad alien game. The original PC version of AvP was awesome, I still fire up the Coop survival mode once in a while when lanning at friends.

SEGA, this is what I want in an Alien game,
Dead Rising like scenario, trapped on a ship in deep space and having to survive a certain amount of days until rescue arrives. Open world (i.e. you can go anywhere on the ship), limited health and ammo, survivors that you can choose to help or leave, a new grunt class alien so you can leave the proper xenomorphs as actual hard adversaries ( like the psychos in DR). It starts as a single player game but if you rescue a special survivor someone can then play as that survivor in coop.
I have more ideas but they'll cost you SEGA

/totally irrelevant...
"...even though developer Obsidian felt it had made worthwhile progress."
So basically they managed to get the game to load to the title screen before either crashing or displaying some game breaking bug?

...and Ridley Scott is rebooting the franchise that James Cameron ruined. Thank YOU!
