Blame the writer for that movie. The director isn't at fault for a story that really doesn't capture imagination and make sense.
Maybe the director is a bit at fault for how the story is portrayed a bit, but the story was weak to begin with.

Sorry. The closest thing to an author that a movie has is its director. Anything that makes it onto the screen is attributed to him. Really great scripts have been destroyed by lousy directing, and good directors can even turn bad ideas into something interesting. Unless the screenwriter is part of the directing or producing crew, he doesn't touch the script once the film making begins.
And besides, anyone saying that Boll's movies are bad because of script writing clearly hasn't seen his movies.

Well, the story of that Bloodrayne movie just sucked. I don't think any directing could have made it better since it didn't really make sense with the character it was based on.
Of course, it could just be that there wasn't very much to go on from the game so they just made up a story and we ended up with something strange.

This looks awesome. Hell, the Bloodrayne games were actually pretty awesome. Why not make a regular sequel? I'd be way down slice Nazis into the tiniest of bits on the latest graphics hardware.

No way! Looks like it combines Castlevania levels, Dishwasher combat, and Meatboy platforming (hopefully not AS hard though). This game looks insane! Totally gonna buy it......

good to see the franchise coming back to life. when you think about it has a lot of potential (unfortunately the execution has not live up completely to that potential), I mean, a really likeable character that does not seem to be aimed at fashion emo kids (like Tetsuya Nomura's creations), a dark edge that can help setting a lot of scenarios and a really cool-cheesy name.
I enjoyed the PS2 era but this 2D rayne seems quite awesome. Can't wait for more details (and a Vampire Hunter D-style anime).

This game actually looks quite good. The first BR game was interesting -- VAMPIRES AND NAZIS -- but the second one was overwhelmed by its own cheese.
The revival looks brilliant. Love the cartoon/comic style, the level design, and the look of combat. It's like Devil May Contravania.

A side scroller? In 2011? REALLY? They took a 3D game that was totally kick ass in two previous versions and turned it into a side scroller for consoles? This game would be great if it was for the iPhone or Android Phones. I'd buy and play it obsessively on Phones or even a Tablet but for the XBox 360 and PS3? This has to be some kind of joke. This game is 10 steps backwards from the previous two games. No thanks, I'll pass. This is a side scrolling joke.
