I've been playing beta for sometime now. I must say, it's very fun and I like the art style.

@organiczero this is why i love/hate people on the internet. While i clearly made myself understood, your inability to focus on the real comment choosing instead to go on trolling on my spealing mistake makes me wonder why discussing the law of geophysics with doors far more rewarding than posting comments on a video game blog.

The beta has been fun.

Awesome, I have had a ton of fun with the beta.
But will this game have achievements?
The only reason I ask is because the beta logo stays on your profile as a played game.

I'm going to make a leap in logic and say yes. Games for Windows Live has a free game available called Tinker that I have the misfortune of having in my profile as a played game. Granted there are a lot of PC games without achievements (older than 2 years), all of the new ones seem to have them.

I am okay with this as a freemium title. I played the beta, although fun, I don't think I would spend much money on this. $10 max. As starting my AoE career back in 1998 when we got our first computer. I have been a huge fan. This game brings graphics that I really enjoy. It is a cool idea, and probably as close to the original as possible. I am not sure where I am going with this, but yea... Cool to check out, but I don't think I will invest any real time with this.

Dear Joystiq,
Why on earth am I forced to click seventeen times just to see the original resolution screenshots for your games?
First you click the screenshot, then you click "HI-RES MODE", then you click "HI-RES MODE" again because it didn't seem to register the first time, which is odd because the URL in my address box changed, and then just in case for some reason you thought "HI-RES MODE" was the big picture, you make me click "+view full size" in the bottom right.
All of this, just to see the screenshot in its original size.
Pathetic.

Want the kicker?
You can right click the image on the small scale gallery, open in a new tab or window, and it will be the original size image ... because they don't actually scale them down, they just fit them in the smaller viewing area, so you're ultimately loading up the largest possible image anyways. If you want to save time, just do that.

Usually in these trailers there's some kind of reversal of fortune in the middle... Nope, the Egyptians just get spanked.

Mild Violence
Sure seems like mild to me, I would expect someone to get hurt in the middle of a war but it seemed like they were playing football instead.
Game looking good otherwise.
