Sony announced this morning that it will "fully restore all PlayStation Network services" to America, Europe and Asia by the end of this week. Regions being omitted from this final push include Japan, which recently began its own phased restoration, and Hong Kong and South Korea.
The full functionality includes use of the PlayStation Store, voucher and code redemption, full use of Qriocity and Media Go. The company says that customers can now purchase games and videos from the PSN for PS3 and PSP. (We're checking to find out if there will be a PSN Tuesday update today.)
This also means details on the "Welcome Back" program and, more importantly, the method for redeeming those free games, should be available shortly.

Same! I'm going to get my PSP titles and use (since I sold my PS3) a friends PS3 to get those titles on my account. So in the future I'll have +2 games if I decide to buy another PS3.
Just a shame the game pickings are quite slim.

Right...cause it's so selfish to want to access the store after FIVE WEEKS OF DOWNTIME!
Some of us have online codes, and passes to redeem. Some of us want access to our store purchases.

Good news for Sony. I hope they get back on their feet. This also gives them a chance to make the online service better (in terms of security). Hopefully others are taking notice and thinking ahead.

@whylekat won't they just make it available slowly region by region so that won't happen? Just like they did with Mutli

I'll be glad when Sony gets everything up and running normally again. I'll also be glad to get my freebies, though to be honest I wasn't much put out by the whole outage thing. Since I'm not too big into the multi-player aspect of the PSN, about the only things that really got me riled about the whole situation was the fact that Sony waited 9 days or so to tell everybody that their personal information had potentially been leaked by hackers and that I had to go do a credit check and change some passwords. Doing all of that took me about 30 minutes and a sigh of relief that nothing had been compromised.
