I said it in the last Darksiders post, and I'll say it again.

Death has Raziel written all over him.

And this is a glorious thing!

The look and build reminds me of Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Casey Jones (TMNT).

Yeah, something tells me Famine and Pestilence would be slightly less fun to play.

@Cypher FDP Pestilence would be awesome, dude. Unleash a cloud of locusts or send rats to eat people's faces off.

@Cypher FDP

I have not played Darksiders so idk if they are using the correct version of the four horsemen or not, but I hope they adopt Conquest instead of Pestilence. Pestilence is not even a real horsemen in the source material (i.e. the bible). Death and Pestilence are really on in the same. Besides, I think they could do way cooler things with Conquest than they could with Pestilence.

I did a little research of my own and it looks like they are using their own mythos. The horseman's (and one horsewoman) names are War, Death, Fury, and Strife. Here is some official concept art of them made when Darksiders 1 was supposed to be 4 player co-op:

http://www.co-optimus.com/screen.php?id=270#http://www.co-optimus.com/images/gallery/1998xhorsemen_strife.jpg

As you can see, Deaths concept held up. I hope Strife's does as well.

If you go back and read the debut article from forever ago's gameinformer, they said that they remade Pestilence and Famine into Fury and Strife (although a bit redundant) to have more of a modern appeal.

@Mechazawa Prime Older concept art says it will be Fury, and Strife. In revelation 6 the horsemen are Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. But death is really just the sum of the other three and a recapitalization of previous events because he kills with sword, famine, disease and wild animals.

@icet1986 Actually, the only horseman named in revelation is Death. The names of the rest are simply inferred from their physical descriptions, the horses they rode, purpose and that sort of thing. For example, War is the rider of a fiery red horse who wields a large sword and has the power to take peace from the earth and make men slay each other, but he's never actually named as War.

As for conquest v pestilence, Conquest is generally accepted as the name of the rider of the white horse in The Bible. Pestilence usually replaces Conquest in most pop culture incarnations, but is not correct by The Bible. Fury and Strife in Darksiders though, I have no idea where those came from

This is gonna be sick, the first one was awesome, can't wait to see how this one will turn out now that they are making it their own. (i.e. not taking ideas from zelda)

@Shameful Sinner

i actually think the liberal "borrowing" (stealing) of elements of zelda and other games is what made the first one a lot of fun, though i do see where you're coming from. they could have at least changed the colors of the portals...i mean that shit was a little too obvious, amiright?

still, the biggest draw of the first game, to me, was the world. i like Joe Mad's art, and seeing it in a solid action game with some cool puzzles and boss fights was well worth the price of admission. shit, i even pre-ordered it and i don't do that often. here's hoping that more badass comic book artists take note and get connected with talented developers of their own.

@XD SGT CHAOS XD Technically only Death is named in the bible. assumptions are made about the other horsemen based on the colors of their horse and the description of their intent / purpose.

That was an awesome trailer, really excited for it. Death looks really cool, like they ran Casey Jones and Nathan Explosion through the filter of some depressed 13 year olds notebook. Also digging that Death sounds really similar to the guy narrator of the preface to Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast

Oh sweet, so Death's story takes place during the 100 years when War was gone from Earth and mankind was eradicated? I'm down with that.
