New Rocksmith songs announced, Titus Andronicus, Best Coast and Pixies make the cut

For serious, you guys: Ubisoft's real-guitar rhythm game Rocksmith is shaping up to have one of the best soundtracks ever featured in a rhythm game. The company announced a whole mess of new play-it-yourself tunes today, showcasing the game's creators' indie rock credibility: Best Coast's "When I'm With You," Silversun Pickups' "Panic Switch," and Titus Andronicus' "A More Perfect Union" are just a handful of the college radio-friendly tracks included therein.
Check out the full list of songs after the jump. Don't worry, grandpa, there's still some Cream and Rolling Stones in the mix which may better suit your old, old ears. I'll stick with RB3, there are some pretty good songs on that list though.

Disappointing. I guess they are targeting beginner guitars because there isn't much over the top c**k rock. I would like to see some Satriani or Van Halen or anything metal. Maybe there is some issues with the tech. The 90's alternative and hipster rock won't be hard to play.
This looks playlist looks like my ex-girlfriend CD collection. Just needs more Pulp and James.

Sond like you've never actually played a real guitar. Of course theres no way to prove that either way. Some of these songs like Sunshine of your Love are exactly the songs beginners are taught. The lick is easy enough but playing the whole song keeping time and hitting the righ notes isn't like hitting 5 colored buttons. I love me some rock band but I am REALLY looking forward to this. Also saying "This whole idea seems HIGHLY SUSPECT though" is just like saying "That sucks" without giving an actual reason, it just shows an actual explanation escapes you.

I have been playing guitar for 15 y ears and I am in two bands. If you don't recognize all these songs as easy, it's obvious you don't play guitar.

Some good song choices, but far from the best soundtrack in rhythm games.
Outside of the songs, the game still seems pretty "meh" to me. Its just not really bringing anything new to the table besides the ability to use any guitar you want(which is something you can actaully do in Rock Band but it requires so much modding and appropriate computer software that it really isn't worth doing). We haven't even seen gameplay from this have we?

When I read "Titus" in the headline above, it made me instantly think of that really, really bad European software house that went out of business years ago.
They made Superman 64.

@Red Runner Titus might be gone, but it wasn't before they transferred all of their business dealings into the corpse of Interplay in order to escape French investors. So, in some sense, they are still around. And they still pretty much fail at business. XD

Loving the tracklist so far!
Side note: I wish Titus Andronicus WERE college-radio-friendly, but as someone who worked at a college radio station this past semester, I must say they unfortunately aren't. Tragically, they have no radio-friendly songs (and I wouldn't wanna censor any of their songs). siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

It's weird that games like these use songs that are generally not very guitar oriented
