The Witcher 2 drops to $40 on Amazon
22
Look, we get it: You don't want to buy a game until you know it's good enough for the President of the United States. We hear you, bud, and you're in luck! The Witcher 2 is totally a game in the Presidential library!
Thus we'd like to inform you of a sale at Amazon. The game is available right now at a reduced cost of $40, both as physical media and a direct download. And if you're looking for further reason why you should care, know that we liked the game and stuff. We're no President by any means, but we're constantly asked to furnish a birth certificate to prove our citizenship. It doesn't help that it's our parents who keep requesting it, but still. That basically makes us President, right?
If you're not into that whole smiling logo thing, Steam also has the game on sale for $40.
[Thanks, Tyler C]

This was just announced as part of CD Projekt's stream. It's $10 off for E3 week in a couple places.

Unsure if my PC will run this...
But let me run this by you, will a 600 dollar pre-built PC be able to handle the witchering?

@Shadowbender Probably, but it all depends. canyourunit.com can do a fairly reliable check, and CPU-Z can tell you what your hardware components actually are.

Depends on your parts. You'll want a good processor though as this game is processor heavy. That alone could run you $250. Graphics card on the lower end may run you $200 or more. Case/Power Supply would be $100 each. Windows 7 would be $100 too if you get the system builder version. Ram would be about $50 - 70 depending. Motherboard would be near $150 or so. So no...I'd say it would be over $600.

Why they didn't apply this sale to their own GOG version is beyond me.

Ah, Steam, how I love you. I just bought The Witcher 2 for $40 and Cities XL 2011 for $10. So, I basically bought a game I really wanted for normal price and got a game that I'm really intrigued by for free!

Sure, you COULD get the Steam Version, but then you'd miss out on the Papercraft dolls and other goodies offered in this one.

I saw it at Target today for $39.99 as well. So if you're impatient or hate ordering things through the mail, Target is a nice alternative.
