Wow. Watching the gameplay reminds me of the exploration of the beautiful landscapes in shadow of the colossus that I loved so much. I have to get this thing now.

@Zoot Suit Jedi Grammar Hammer En It's possible that he's just suffering from extreme jet lag. He looked exhausted. The game looks brilliant though, day 1 for me I reckon. Anything that echoes the explorative magic of Shadow of the Colossus is pretty special.

My only real worry left about this game was that the actual playing of it wouldn't live up to the art style. I no longer have that fear. Sliding down hills, flying over the landscape, and all of the other movements you can do are so uniquely satisfying (or at least they appear to be in the video) that I think I could just walk around in that universe for hours, without even worrying about the objectives of the game.

I can only hope that they find a suitable window to launch this game into, because it will have stiff competition if they try to slot it in with the big game launches later this year. I think a Q3 2011 launch would have been best, but if they can't manage that, then a late Q1 2012 launch may be as good. Either way, I need this game.

@BananaBoat

I honestly don't think games like this need to worry about launch windows. Usually downloadable titles like this don't sell too great right away anyways. Take Flower for example, it only started selling well once reviews and word of mouth got out. They are usually long term sellers.

@TraceurRyuk Part III - Good point, although for the sake of my ability to play it on launch day, I hope they slot it in somewhere without multiple AAA titles.

It would be nice if it could be a success on day one, but I guess that is kind of pie in the sky.

Sand box games are awesome; whenever you don't feel like getting into the main gameplay of the game you can just roam around hours until you've had enough, like driving cars in Grand Theft Auto 3 San Andreas.

Jenova Chen...
What an unfortunate name.

All I can think of is Final Fantasy VII...

I will buy this, but I'm doing it a little reluctantly. I try to support both independent developers and bigger studios who go out on a limb and try new things. Thatgamecompany's previous games were fair to middlin'.

I enjoyed Flower for what it was; which was an interactive poem. It was certainly relaxing but the "challenge" and darkness that came into it in the later stages disrupted the fLow that it had going. I still haven't finished it.

I hope this game continues to bring enough new to the table to keep me going until the end. The "coop" looks both interesting and unnecessary but possibly the best part. I can't wait.

I know there is a lot of duplicity in this comment, but that seems somehow appropriate given the pedigree of the developers. To bad I'm no good at metaphors.

I was a big fan of flower, Flow I didn't really like, but I'm excited for this one for sure (make it NGP compatible too! and flower for that matter!).

Until now I've been relying on pretty screenshots and TGC's track record to be excited about this game. Now I think I actually get it. Kinda makes some of the other games I'm looking forward to seem shallow.
