Pedometer. Sounds creepy. Between 1 and 10, how likely is there going to be a statutory case against this person?

Wow, really EA? Really? You can't even come up with a different name from the Sims 2 pet expansion?

@PointlessPuppies Why would they bother? It's not like anyone would be fooled that the current game's expansion that gives you pets is somehow different than the previous game's expansion that gives you pets.

The pet expansion for the first Sims was called Unleashed.

I don't have a name specifically in mind. I'd just like EA to take the decency to at least come up with a name that's not recycled from the second game. They've been recycling expansion ideas from the past two games, now they're even recycling names? Incredibly lazy.

I like how a company can call something an expansion, bump the price up to 30/40 bucks and no one bitches that it should have been in the release game or free. Seriously, how are pets not a part of the baseline Sims games yet?

@blackangel209 Well, at least the content wasn't already on the disc... people are paying at least for genuine new content, and not just getting some unlock code...

I'd buy the Wii version if they let EA turn it into Sims 3: Pokemon. You could find some in the park, then battle your neighbors, and sign up for the Trainer profession.

It's a shame they'll never do that. It would rescue two franchises from being super tired.

If they pull this crap with the Sims 4 I'll definitely won't fall for that trap.

I mean, isn't anyone else sick of them stripping down the game for every "sequel" only to reintroduce what they already had in the previous games as "new" again?

Pets should have been standard in Sims 3 from the start, at least the basic ones. You can always milk the more exotic ones in an expansion. Ambitions and Late Night should have been in Sims 3 from day one as well.

World Adventures is the only expansion that was something truly different and worthy, really. All the others should have had that content in the base game since it's been established before.

The fact that then expansion packs nearly cost the price of a full game most of the time certainly doesn't take the pimp spit out of one's mouth...

Yes, I know it's hypocritical for me to bitch about it, especially considering I fell for the trap (TWICE!) and too many people have been pleading for a Pets expansion, but isn't time we stop whoring ourselves out to EA like this?

After this massive money pit that is Sims 1-3 you'd hope EA would treat us right with the inevitable Sims 4 and make most of the established expansions standard in the base game. At least half of them.

Oh and while you're shitting on my chest EA, if you could put out a similar Universities expansion out for Sims 3 I'll continue to hold back my tears and look the other way, again. (I don't think Generations is supposed to remedy that, is it? I still need to read a review on it)

This. Seriously. THIS.
My computer has the required 4gb of RAM but thanks to EA and thier whole scheme with The Sims, the game takes up all four of my CPUs and a butt load of memory.

Add in the expansions, the stuff packs, the custom content, and the store content you'll get a good 20gb+ from The Sims 3. I'm wish I was fckn joking here. This game takes up more power than you think.

Not to mention EA and their lovely development team's good programming. (a lot of functions in the game are found incomplete, missing, or don't work at all)

I love these games, I really do. But for all the money that's being spent, you'd think they'd be able to make the game stable and not have to rely on "patches" that just wreck things up. EA patching is like taking your car to a ghetto autobody. You send in your car with a few problems, it comes out with even more.

Pets expansions never really seem like they give enough value for money. I like having pets in the game, but for the cost of an expansion they always feel lightweight (and this seems about par for the course). I was kind of hoping they would have either given us a wider variety of animals to have as pets, or they be introduced as a bigger expansion such as a farm life expansion or something.

Hrmmm, grumble grumble. *waits for a University expansion*

I still remember playing the first game. One of my sims got trapped on an island in the middle of the swimming pool and wouldn't move because they needed to go to the toilet. I couldn't spawn a toilet there either, so they ended up dying of a bladder eruption.

To those complaining: This is how its always been. I think most people are used to Sims games having a billion and a half expansions. Look at the first two games. And it'll be the same for Sims 4 whenever that shows up.

@Capgun Just because that's how it always has been, it doesn't mean that anybody has to like how it is. I think that the complaints are justified. Not that EA cares, but that's not the point.

There's no point in doing another sims 3 on the consoles. I got the last one on the 360 and the system doesn't work well. If they were going to do a decent one on the consoles they would have to use the system on the sims 2 games or personally, I would really want another Urbz game

Isn't a Sim already a pet?

I mean think about it, you have to take care of it, feed it, let it sleep, grow, ect...

So therefore, you have to take care of a sim that takes care of a pet?

Seems silly.
