So it's mainly a Star Wars themed mini-game collection?

Looks exactly as I expected it to. Lame but in a kind of good way. Like, it's a better kinect title, whatever that's worth, and it's also Star Wars.

If I insert generic characters I can quickly see that it's no different than any other motion based mini-game out there. Once the novelty wears off I'm sure you're left feeling empty and unsatisfied.

Hopefully the next gen of Kinect proves more enjoyable for more types of games.

Yeah, after watching that video, I can't really say that I'm envious.

I'm sure it will do well with the 6-12 age group though which it seems targeted at (clone wars-esque graphics and simple laggy gameplay)

Well, considering it's on the KINECT, maybe we can finally do a force push by doing a "crotch thrust" motion.

Or would that be the actions of a Sith?

I own and Kinect and I want a game that can justify its purchase. Dance Central is a solid title, no doubt; it's just not enough.
Every other game seems to be based merely on mini-games and nothing else. I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I want some depth. Child of Eden looks beautiful, but I'm not sure if I can pay full price for it.

Star Wars seems to be going down the same mini-game-laden path. I sincerely hope I'm wrong!

In theory, this is THE Star Wars game. In reality, I'll probably be incredibly disappointed.

I want a Star Wars game based on the original trilogy. Hell, I'll even settle with some of the 2nd trilogy. However, everything that has come out in recent years has been all about the Clone Wars. I'm kind of tired of the Clone Wars, and I think I liked it more when it was just something that was briefly mentioned during the original trilogy. And I'm just pretending that that horrible CGI Clone Wars movie was never made.

/end Star Wars fanboy rant.

I apologize, I couldn't contain the inner Star-Wars-Nerd in me.

I know it's unpopular to say but I gotta say it. Down vote me now for having an opinion.
I'm 33, watched the OT first, soaked and bathed in every minute of it. Know every line. Read the Zahn trilogy (which the Solo babies is a worse offense than anything George wrote)

So that's my background. GL does better with a shoe-string budget, because he's a perfectionist that tries too hard. We all know this.

But now I'm a father who's instilled a love of Star Wars into his son. He's 5 and loves the movies and loves the clone wars series equally. I watch the shows with him and they're not bad. Campy, occasionaly cheesy but not bad. It's Star Wars.

Anyway I realized that Grandpa Lucas isn't telling bedtime stories to us anymore, he's telling it to our children. We're now the parent standing outside the bedroom door listening in and I get it. I love it cause it's star wars, but I love it more because what it's doing for my son. He's getting to experience new shows and new worlds in his head to explore like I did when I was a kid.

Okay, lightsaber up, cut through me, I am ready to become one with the force.

Doesn't sound fun. Sounds unnecessary. Lucas Arts needs to put that coin behind a new Jedi Power Battles HD remake or SW battlefield 3.

This is a step in the right direction in convincing me to buy a Kinect. Still a kiddie game and still nothing really to make me say oh my god I want right now, but its getting there. Maybe some other titles will be announced at E3 to push me over the edge, but not really going to hold my breath.

Looks like this game has a severe case of Clone Wars Syndrome, the only cure being shotgun to the forehead.

Also, I assume the lightsaber is still treated like a baseball bat duct taped to a fluorescent lamp

Looks alright for that cgi clone wars animation, but It'd be easier with the move since it'll basically be a lightsaber

Unless you could actually make one of those awesome lightsabers you own as the controller that you paid for a decent price and is shiny.

But less PT, More OT and god forbid EU.

My mistake... I did not realize I was in the wrong for having a different interest in games. I suppose I should have worded my post a little better for the truely ignorant. When am I going to get a game IM interested in... And despite the fact that your quick to judge and jump to conclusions, I have played the three titles you mentioned and then some. I have friends with kinects. Judging by how you jump at someones throat for not being just like you. I assume it safe to say you don't have many of those. Again youll have to excuse me. I dont need a video game to dance, play sports, or excersize. IMO the kinect right now is nothing more than an HD shovelware machine. But im sure you will tell me how wrong I am for once again having my own opinion.
