Yeah, I could care less about Modern Warfare at this point. The developers have showed nothing innovative- just more perks and killstreak rewards. And Call of Duty Elite is the same as Waypoint; so, nothing new there. Also, considering the Call of Duty stories are about as convoluted as a box of Christmas tree lights I see no point in picking this up for the single player experience.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare was such an amazing experience it saddens me to see the series go to waste and I whole heartedly blame Activision.

@EA575 i dont get you BF3 fanbays. why do you fanboys have to come into a COD story and tell everyone your buying BF3? know one gives a shit if your buying BF3. i was a socom fan for years. then socom games when down the tubes. now im a COD fan. but you wont see me trolling the socom story's telling them im buying COD.

a lot people reading these story's will most likely buying both BF3 and MW3 so stop with the fanboy "im only supporting one FPS" BS ok

@dblue

I don't see anything wrong with people talking about BF3 in a COD news title. Both games and franchises are inherently competing with each other, and people like to chat and post on here to discuss and convince themselves which game they want to buy, because unlike a minority, most people cant afford to buy both so they have to justify in which one to get.

The term fanboy seems to be irrelevant now cause its tossed around to include anything that anyone likes and pretty much lossed all meaning and relevance. So because I was convinced as a consumer to buy BF3 over a COD games I am now a BF3 fanboy when I never really played the other games before it.

Even the little things like the sounds. The guns in this trailer sound like the decoy in CoD:BO. I do enjoy CoD over the top storyline, but I would appreciate it if they made a new engine for it to run on. Hell, I buy this is my money goes toward R&D for a new game engine.

@FakeJamaican I agree with you. The Battlefield games are fun, but they're a tad too slow for me. Not just the overly long match times, but even player movement and especially reloads. I am tired of sitting there watching the LOOOOONG animation to reload my damn sniper rifle. I don't need it to play like Call of Duty (I enjoy both series of games), but it should play a bit faster and with some more variety.

It's much faster on the PC. 30fps vs 60fps makes a big difference!

@Mr Hett That's still not what I mean. It's not the lag, it's just that I don't need to see all the motions that go into a reload, especially when I reload mid-mag. If there's already a round in the chamber, it doesn't need to show me the act of chambering a round. Also, I don't care about PC gaming. I used to game on the PC back in the days of Rainbow Six and Counter-Strike, and SWAT 3. It's not something I focus on anymore. It's a hell of alot easier to hang out with a console; when friends don't have one, I can just take it to them (not as easy with a PC). I also don't only play shooters or RPGs so I get more out of my gaming since there are some games that just don't play well (wrestling) on PC or won't ever come out on one.

@diamount I feel the same way. It started out well and the atmosphere was really attractive but as soon as the "arcade" shooting began I started to miss the Battlefield 3 demo. I was seriously considering pickup up MW3 this year too, which would be my first Call of Duty since W@W, but it doesn't look like the gameplay has improved too much at all.

I dont really think its fanboyism, i mean PS3 vs XBOX i would call fanboyism, but COD games are actually just getting milked, its going to be no surprise this time next year we'll be watching MW4, and in a few months time, we'll see the first leaks for Black Ops 2.
And not much changes between games besides the different ways we give activision our money, £12 for maps? are you serious? 3 map packs and you've bought a whole new game in essence.

I love zombies though, i wish they sold that on the PSN store stand alone.

Also, when it comes to battlefeild, the game is i believe genuinely better, but no doubt it will be overshadowed by the release of MW3 because people by into hype, its a fact, you play MW cause your friends & families do, in the same way we use facebook because our friends & families do, a never ending circle. while activition sit back and sing
MoMoneyMoMoneyMoMoney!!

Agreed to eleventy billionth power. That is the truth word for word.

Side note: even some of the campaign features are looking exactly alike. Especially having the player blow up in some explosion to crawl out of some wreckage into a firefight.

I will give credit that "something" felt a little new about the gunfire and shooting mechanic, probably some minor tweaking going on as far as sound and such.

Farcry 3 story also grabbed me alittle, i think i may pick that up as my first farcry game, apart from that, id like to see some more rayman =D

I'm so tired of the Battlefield comparisons. The games play completely differently, sure they're military shooters but we don't compare Tetris to Bejeweled. Just let both games be, you guys act like hipsters who like the indie-versions of popular bands just because it's not what's mainstream.

Battlefield is just as well known as COD? I'm not even trying to be rude about this, but it simply isn't. So my argument is not invalid, most of the hype for Battlefield 3 is from gamers who are tired of Call of Duty. I'm just wondering why people don't let both games be.

The average casual gamer who buys COD annually have most likely never played Battlefield before in their lives. So there is a passion in most hardcore gamers to hype Battlefield 3 as much as possible. That's fine. But when they start bringing down the competition (COD), it's just pathetic, unrelated, and unnecessary.
