Only 299 euros for the 3G PSVita? I'm.....oh man that just made my week considering I had an insane 450 price point in mind looking at how much the 3DS costs. YAY!

Vita at $250 is a great deal.

3G model with AT&T at $300 isn't even close to being worth it, lol.

$50 extra and having Wi-Fi & 3G is totally worth it. Now, if that was just a dig at AT&T and their 3G service I don't necessarily agree or disagree.

AT&T's basic service is terrible enough, their 3G is even worse. Not to mention that launching a 3G device this fall will be very limiting for the future given the big push LTE has been getting recently. In 2 years 3g will be what 2g is now= lol slow. It is possible for this to be 4G upgradable, but that would be the type of thing you would advertise. (suppose that they can release a 4G SKU later down the line as well) Plus I doubt AT&T will price this very friendly, given that they have hemorraged a lot of customers this past year and are probably seriously hurting for a new cash whore.

I guess it comes down to what is adequate for portable gaming on PSV. If AT&T 3G gives an adequate experience then it wouldn't matter if it was 4G upgrade-able. I guess for downloading, browsing and what not it'd make a difference. It all comes down to whats the minimum requirement for using the PSV life features and online gaming.

I mean its fine for now, but given how hard sony seems to be trying to future proof the PSV, its a really odd thing to leave out. Then again, AT&T has a non-existent 4G network atm.

I would much rather have seen this going Verizon/T-Mobile. Still, I'll probably pick up the $250 model when I see a game on it worth snagging.

I've only ever owned 3 handhelds in my life: Sega Game gear, GBC, and my last purchase was a solid purple launch model GBA.

There is some confusion for me as to if you can only buy PSV at AT&T or if AT&T is merely the exclusive carrier in North America. Can I buy the Wi-Fi only model at Best Buy, Gamestop etc? Maybe its obvious but it wasn't made clear to me at the presser.

AT&T is probably an exclusive carrier for the 3G data plan, whereas you can probably buy them anywhere.

Restricting sales to only AT&T stores would be an amazingly stupid idea. I've never even BEEN to an AT&T store.

I second what R Planteer said, AT&T will not be getting my money and I will get getting the PSVmin version at launch. Never owned a handheld before but this if finally something worth buying. Dual Analog FTW!

Why don't people wait for the contract information to be officially mention? If I can simply use my current one that I have with AT&T that would be cool...but I am not paying 20 to 30 dollars a month EXTRA for a system.

Most likely BOTH system will probably include a contract for 2 years (well wi-fi is probably one year) like every piece of equipment AT&T sales. If they didn't say that the Wi-fi mode didn't have a contract (which believe me if it didn't have one they would had scream it to the 7 winds), it'll most likely have one.

Now I am glad they found a way to make this affordable...but paying extra a month for 2 years will make this expensive in the long run O_O

If it doesn't have a contract they are in serious business now...but again I am skeptical they didn't mention ANY information of the AT&T deal.

It might be the best plan ever to sell it this way or it can hurt them in the long run. Being in the same place as the Iphone (and other smartphones) and needing contrat to get it and it clearly doesn't work as a phone might hurt sales.

I'll wait for additional information on the AT&T deal to see if I should jump in joy and start saving (aka the Wi-fi mode has no contract) or if I wait a few years for it to become available without a contract.

Tomorrow Nintendo had better bring the house down. I want Cafe revealed, price, games demoed (playable?), the works.

And a price drop on the 3DS is necessary now, considering the Vita is double the power for the same price.

But the current PSP is cheaper than the DSi... So who knows?!

@tendoboy1984 I do hope the Cafe information in price is revealed indeed. As for the vita...I am still waiting for the whole AT&T deal, people jumping into the Wi-fi version most likely thinking it doesn't have a contract to pay extra, but giving Sony never mention anything of this information and said they'll address this later, I am sure the Wi-fi mode will have a contract of 20 to 30 dollars for a year (or two).

If they had mention that in the conference it would had been PS3 price reveal all over again. So better let people be high on the whole 249.99 and 299.99 price before mentioning anything about contract or data plans prices for both version most likely. Now if it DOESN'T have a contract then they indeed put a giant crosshair on the back of the 3DS. I am guessing more information will be giving in a month or two.

I am so freakishly disappointed! Virtually no new unannounced Ps3 titles on display. Sly Cooper 4 already had a teaser trailer out so that didn't count and Medieval Moves was new, sure, but it looked boring as hell! So, pretty much the only unannounced game that invoked any interest was Dust 514 but that didn't look that hot either if you ask me... Sure, Vita looks great and the live demos of Uncharted 3 and Resistance 3 in particular were great but the rest was utterly disappointing. I really hope Nintendo has a better show tomorrow!

What are you talking about? It was a great presentation and they focused on what matters. Games, games and more games. Sure we knew 70% of the stuff already but it was well put together and well presented.

Do you really think Sesame Street and the Sims Social crap that Microsoft was pushing blew this out of the water?

I also liked Jack's apology at the beginning. It was nice to see a sincere and humble apology touched with a bit of humour. The only thing that I think was missing from this whole thing was Kevin Butler. Where art thou???!!

You guys are dumb if you think there will be a contract with the att version. It will be just like the iPad, galaxy tab, kindle 3G(free net but still no contract) where you can add it to your exisiting att account and just pay whatever the data plan is or you can use a cc to activate it if you don't have att as your provider. I really wish people would stop jumping on the att hate bandwagon especially when 80% of the people talking crap have never even had the service. Sure there are some areas when they have issues, such as dense urban areas with rediculous amounts of people(NYC and sf). I have att in Florida and have 0 issues what so ever and my 3G speeds are always in the 2-4mbps range on my iPhone. I'm willing to bet the vita supports hspa if not hspa+. It's the cool Internet thing to bash att, I'm pretty sure Sony would have went elsewhere if the network was that bad all over the place, and good luck getting more than 1meg down on Verizon's "3G". LTE is irrelevant right now because it's not everywhere and battery life is horrendous, you'd be lucky to get a hour play time with a lte radio currently. Also while att builds out the hspa+ network and launches the lte network you will have an equally fast connection where if your used to Verizon's lte speeds and have to fall back to their "3G" speeds your gonna be pissed.

@(Unverified) Even when I was in SF for a visit awhile back I didn't have problems. I'm out in a small town out side of Tulsa OK now, and never have a problem with my service. AT&T is good in my book. Yet I've had friends with Verizon in FL and they would get dropped calls and Screwed up internet service often. It's really has more to do with your location than anything, but what are you going to do, haters gonna hate.

Didn't set my world on fire, especially because I live in the UK and therefore the PSVita is not probably going to be the enticing prosspect it is in the USA price-wise. Still better than Microsoft though; I own both consoles and I know that'll I'll be buying more Sony exclusives than MS in the coming months by the looks of things. Sony would have had to go some to do worse than the MS conference, I was sore from cringing so much. Now it lays with Nintendo to wow us with it's mind-reading tea maker with crumpets addon.

Boring conference. The tone was more of a eulogy than a celebration. A couple of OK games and more new hardware... I can't count the number of times that the crowd had to be reminded that it was time to clap. So far, from a games standpoint, neither MS nor Sony have wow'd with their games lineup. There are the obvious 3rd party cross-platform games, but both conferences have been more about "other stuff" than actual games and in that regard MS killed Sony.

I can't believe I'm holding out for Nintendo to do something to actually wow me...
