Ken Levine discusses Sky-Lines in BioShock Infinite
26
Kevin Levine explains the genesis of Sky-Lines in BioShock Infinite's floating city, Columbia, and how the children were the ones to initially figure out how to get around using those Sky-Hooks. Man, those must have been some brave children!

@dpaul420 Joystiq has really odd demographics targeting. Are there really that many upper class moms on this site that need to watch their kids on line and eat activia to stay regular?

I don't have any kids, and they certainly wouldn't have any friends.

How on earth would Adblock stop an ad playing before a video?

@Triscuit
I know, Im just super sick of it playing every time I load a video, which is multiple times daily. They should at least cycle through different ones.
I think it is just my irrational hate for commercials in general.I went from PVR'ing everything, to now just simply downloading shows/movies, sans commercials. I can barely sit though the Stanley Cup Finals right now, since I want to watch it live, but that means I have to sit through commercials, ahhhhh

Headline should be, 'Ken Levine changes his name to Kevin... no one noticed.'
Seriously though, this game is just looking incredible. The more and more I see, I am certain it is going to feel like a Bioshock game.
Bring on 2012 - Unless the world ends.

Man, I'd crap my pants if I ever rode a sky-line. "Don't look down" has a new meaning when you're dangling in the air, thousands of feet above the ground.

It's going to be really interesting to see how they can implement this feature without opening up the doors to sequence breaking. The nice thing about Rapture vs. Columbia is you had natural breaks in the form of hatches that could cut the player off from other areas.

@TRTX i'm sure certain areas of the track will be broken or inaccesible.

Ken talks about doing something with planes and makes a face like "but that would have been silly".. But having rollercoaster tracks throughout your flying city is totally kosher.
Looks cool though. I particularly liked the last 5-8 secs of gameplay shown in the clip.

Has there been any talk of supporting 3D? This seems like it'd be the perfect game to showcase that.

I love listening to Mr Levine...you can tell he just loves to create games. Bit like Peter Jackson in that he has a strong vision on what it should be like, and then make sure it turns out that way.
I can't imagine Infinite being anything other than awesome. Irrational and 2K seem quite relaxed on giving Kevin as long as he needs, certainly doesn't seem like it's being rushed.
