Still no Official Release Date for Zelda. Just Holiday.... I can't even pre-order it yet because I want the Golden Wiimote since I don't have a motion plus controller and no one has that one available fore pre-order. Bah.

@crazedaku Yeah really hoping they add the golden wiimote stuff soon. I pre-ordered anyway though, pretty simple to cancel the previous pre-order once they get their act together.

At least Skyward Sword has some sort of release window...

...I pine for Rhythm Heaven, yet Nintendo won't even tell me if it's coming out this year...

There wasn't been an Advance Wars game in a long time, either. I think Intelligent Systems has given up on those games.

I hardly think they've given up on two very popular and long running franchises. Remember that Intelligent Systems also makes the official development kits for Nintendo hardware and the Paper Mario series, so they might be a bit preoccupied right now. ;)

Yeah, sucks that there hasn't been a new Advance Wars in awhile, but the latest Fire Emblem game (New Mystery of the Emblem) was released in Japan almost a year ago, and there's still no word about localizing it. Usually takes them about 6 months from Japan release to bring over to the States, and we're well beyond that point now. Makes me worry if it'll ever come. :(

@Yuglyoshi Hardly. Just because there hasn't been a game all that recently doesn't mean they've "given up". There have been 4 Advance Wars games now, including one as recent as 08.

@XRZ36 - We'll see Fire Emblem and Advance Wars games on the 3DS for sure (and hopefully on the Wii U). Though one has to wonder why it never became "DS Wars."

@EatSleepChuck I know, its been like a year since its launch in Japan (Fire Emblem) and it seems Nintendo has no interest at all in bringing the game here.
Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are the only games that would make me buy a 3DS, then of course I would consider other games, but those are the system sellers for me.

Nintendo gets bad about localizing games that come late in the life cycle of their systems.... They never released Mother 3 for the GBA outside of Japan... even though Earthbound was a cult classic to many on the SNES. Thankfully there was a fan translation of Mother 3, and it was a fantastic game... I'm sure Fire Emblem will get a fan translation... and it just means I still get to play the game, just on an emulator and Nintendo doesn't get my money for a product I would have gladly paid for.

They need to announce HD remake-localisations of Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora's Tower for the Wii U. That'll get the ball rolling without them needing to even put in much effort.

One is almost forced to wonder if they are holding those back to release with the Wii U, and as such screw over everyone who bought a Wii.

I have to agree. Looking over that list came up with alot of nothing. That list is seriously weak. Granted - this is from my perspective, but this is ridiculous.

Nintendo needs to break from the mold and start producing something that makes you want to own its system. A Zelda once per generation is not enough, nor is a bunch of multiplatform stuff.

Wii U is backwards compatible right? really no need to makes ports... both games are already released in Japan anyway... it's just a matter of if they'll be localized. I know Xenoblade is getting a Euro release and The Last Story is rumored to have a Euro release... so I might just have to get to play them that way rather than a proper US release... I guess NOA feels there's no serious gamers left playing the Wii in the US.

Wow, now that was a load of crapware. The only things in that list that piqued my interest was DQM: Joker 2 and Kirby Mass Attack seems awesome. (Not interested in the new Devil Survivor; couldn't get into the first one on DS although I loved Strange Journey.) While it's still a loooong way off, I really really hope Nintendo creates a healthy ecosystem for third parties and actually polices bull@%$! software on the Wii U b/c that list above is just AWFUL. Not fanboying against Nintendo b/c I still love 'em (particularly their handhelds) but my goodness, Nintendo: what's happened to you?

No company polices 'bullshit' software. If your game is broken and doesn't pass QA they won't let you release it, or if it contains porn or something, but other than that? If a legitimate publisher wants to publish a game, and it's a finished game that works, then Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo aren't going to play critic.

And nor should they - the fact that 90% of this list is utter shite doesn't matter one bit. I'm not going to buy those games, you're not going to buy them, it's not a problem. The problem is not that there are too many crap titles, that's fine.

The problem is that there are too few good ones.

I think it's safe to just omit releases that aren't from Nintendo.

I feel better with 2 or 3 ok games coming up than a shovelware avalanche.

It is rough, but check my list -- there's some decent 3rd party games... and quite a few more imports from third parties.

Loved Devil Survivor. Will Yoohoo feature? Can only hope so. Can only think of two or three or four other RPGs that has given me such enjoyment.

Seems strange, though, that this will probably be the only game I'll buy this year - 18 months, even, if we go back to S&P Wii.

I would have liked a 3DS list or maybe a more narrowed time frame for the games I'm actually looking forward to (besides Fall, Holiday, or TBA) but it's nice to see a list that further confirms these games are coming.

Strangely, I find the first party 3DS line-up more appealing than anything for DS or Wii at the moment...

Luckily I have fairly diverse tastes. There's exactly a dozen Wii games I'm likely to get and half a dozen for DS... And, that doesn't even include imports I'm going to pick up (Earth Seeker, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, Milestone Shmup Collection Vol. 2, Night of the Sacrifice, Rodea the Sky Soldier, etc.) and US games that are confirmed but not on this list for whatever reason (Trackmania, Burgertime, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny).

I don't think that's so bad for a twilight year, and I'll be picking up another 2 dozen games on 3DS in this time-frame(!) and a few more games on 360 and PSP.

* = will most likely add to the collection at some point.
* * = will definitely buy upon release

Wii:
**Wii Play: Motion -- June 13
*UFC Personal Trainer -- June 28
**La-Mulana -- Summer
*DanceDanceRevolution II -- Fall
*Spider-Man: Edge of Time -- Fall
**Kirby Wii -- Fall
*Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games -- November
*WWE 12 -- Nov. 22
**Fortune Street -- Holiday
**The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword -- Holiday
*Mario Party 9 -- TBA
**Rhythm Heaven -- TBA

DS:
*Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 -- Aug. 28
*Camping Mama Outdoor Adventures -- Sept. 6
**Kirby Mass Attack -- Sept. 19
*Professor Layton and the Last Specter -- Fall
*Super Fossil Fighters -- Holiday
**Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 -- Q1 2011

Now a few questions come to mind:

-Is Hudson developing Mario Party 9, or the ex-Hudson developers that are now at Nintendo (responsible for Wii Party)?

-Was the first fossil fighters any good?

-Will Atlus end up releasing a 3DS version of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2?

-Are the mystery case files games any good?

-Will Dragon Quest X jump ship to Wii U? (The latest article on Siliconera about it comes from the composer, who says it's being targeted for a 2012 Wii release in Japan)...
