How do you know the dildos weren't some sort of Saint's Row the Third cross-promotion?

I don't, but thanks to Joystiq hiding the truth I'll never know. Conspiracy theories abound here. Is Joystiq on Rockstar's payroll and wanting to cut out any sandbox competition? Do they hate streaking in video games? Have they still not forgiven Saint's Row for that disgusting "in yo grill" cover art?

Guess it's time I should retire my drinking game where I take a drink every time they release a crappy DSiWare and WiiWare game every week...now that the 3DS has a store I don't think I can handle it.

On the bright side here's hoping for good Gameboy VC games!

If both my original Gameboys didn't have the wonderful orange display line of doom (the result of giving any small child a handheld gaming device), I'd be playing Super Mario Land, Link's Awakening & Kirby's Dreamland right now in their original format...

Stupid orange display line of doom.

My Gameboy Pocket still plays all those games flawlessly but I'm a stickler for playing games at night and really don't like playing those games with little to no back light. I'm really hoping they put out Kirby's Pinball Land! My favorite handheld game growing up.

Heh, I just found a copy of Kirby's Pinball Land at a thrift store a few weeks ago. About $4. It's lot of fun!

I have an SP. The backlight on those systems are pretty bad, the colors aren't as vibrant as they should be.

I absolutely love Gameboy and Gameboy Color games. Not quite sure why, but I think they have a real charm. Link's Awakening is my favourite Zelda and it's a great 3DS title. Here's hoping that Nintendo release some of the other Gameboy classics soon, such as Pokemon Red/Blue, Final Fantasy Adventure, Super Mario Land 2 and 3, Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Metal Gear Solid and Wario Land).

An aside: was it ever mentioned anywhere on here that you need a whole seperate 3DS points card to get the games off the eShop? I didn't realize it and ended up blowing $20 a Wii/DSi card the day the shop launched only to realize that it was worthless on 3DS.

Dunno, I just purchase with a credit card. Convenient.

And before you say it's "safer" due to companies getting hacked lately, unless you pay with cash wherever you buy your card, your credit card info is going on file somewhere. As long as you are in a secure wifi area and your info isn't getting sniffed on your end, there's no more risk purchasing through the eShop w/CC vs buying it from Best Buy/Target w/CC.

You may be right, but honestly, there's 3 reasons I'd rather rely on points cards for 3DS. One is that I have an tendency to spend far more freely when an online store is connected to my credit card. iTunes, Amazon, and XBLA prove this on a monthly basis. Two is that, though they finally seem to be learning, Nintendo still hasn't proven to me that they deserve my trust in their online infrastructure. Three is that when I buy the cards, I get extra credits at either best buy or gamestop on their rewards programs. I don't have a loyalty program attached to my credit card, so I get squat out of that.

Fair enough - The loyalty perks and money management are good arguments. Touche.

Well, Nintendo doesn't store your card info unless that's changed with the 3DS. On the Wii you have to enter it every single time which means the transaction doesn't have that sort of impulse purchase to it since you have to manually reach for the card every time and enter numbers. I agree I also have spent too much on services that keep your credit card info because it's just TOO easy to click...click....click bought. Steam and PSN has really taken kindly to my cards these past few years.

@acefondu 3DS store doesn't store your data, you enter it every time you buy something. Honestly i think i prefer it that way, feels safer.

I just did the same thing. Now I have $40 worth of usless Nintendo points.

Yes 3DS is just the same as Wii (I bought some points and some DSi puzzle game the other day). Easy to use, works well. Pro: you have control over your purchasing. Con: you can only buy points in 10 (of your currency) multiples.

Btw re the 'announce Monday release Thursday' schedule - I really don't see the point of that unless they are going to have special 'press' systems that get the game earlier, or invite press to previews every week or something?

I mean it would be great if it meant we could have reviews before the game comes out, but if it's just 'we'll announce on Monday so you have four days to forget about buying it' that doesn't sound like a smart move.

I am playing Link's Awakening for the first time by way of 3DS Virtual Console. I can't wait until they get around to releasing GBA games because I missed out on Minish Cap as well.

If Nintendo Europe would get their Club Nintendo back online, I've enough points gathered to convert into 3DS/WiiWare points.

Why move them? If they release their games on Sundays, doesn't it make more sense to release downloadable titles on Monday?

You know I was expecting an announcement of what would be out on Thursday today.

Nintendo said they are doing Thursday's now because they want to use Monday to promote software instead of telling us what's already out.

..Weak reasoning, but I still don't know. I expect Xevious, that was supposed to be out on launch
