"Disneyland Adventures isn't so much a game as it is an attraction"

It sounds like it isn't so much an attraction as it is an advertisement.

@copa I work there and even I want this game. Not like they need to try to sell me anything. Some families can't afford $2000 every year to go... so what better way than to bring that fun and those memories home with you anytime you want?

Isn't everything Disney just an ad for itself?
I mean, notice how the Disney channel has "commercials," but they are really just telling you to do more Disney things and never for toys or anything like you'd expect?

The presentation of this at E3 made me embarrassed to be a 360 gamer. Even Gears 3, Halo 1 & 4, and Battlefield 3 didn't redeem it.

@Schlecht Then you are very insecure with yourself, especially if something like Disney embarrasses you. I'd say start with yourself before you blame MS or Disney.

Wow, as a father and 360 gamer I was delighted buy the concept, yet bummed it was not Disney World. I am glad that my shootercentric console has options for younger gamers and their families. I hope this is the first of many virtual places. I would love the Smithsonium, or Library of Congress. or the Moon, maybe Mars. My Avatar cruising around topographically accurate Mars.

This isn't for most of us. But those of us with kids or nieces/nephews might be interested.

Mine are quickly getting older and dangerously close to Bieber stage, so this can't come out soon enough.

What you said. I have a co-worker with young kids (2-6) and they bought a 360 with kinect specifically for them. A month or so ago he took them to DisneyLand for the 3rd time in the last few years and was bitching that this was teh last time for a while. I showed him this game last week and he was excited because the kids will love it and it's almost like being there, without the complete mental, physical and financial drain.

This is charming, as I'll be reminded of superb childhood memories of Disney World.

That actualy bring up an idea-- what if there were factions in this game, two factions for the player to join: Either Disney World or Disneyland. Of course, this would alter bot your character and the ending to the campaign, and each come with different features.

Why does MS pull crap like that every year? What do they take us for, or rather -- what do they take themselves for? It's just like the cheesily-acted Kinect Chat conversations.

I think their logic is "there's no such thing as bad publicity", hence the continued efforts to give everyone diabetes with their cloying demonstrations of Stepford family gaming.

It reminded me of the Disney Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for the NES. I miss that game, but some how I don't think it will ever live up to my memories of it so I won't pursue playing it again.

Folks, keep in mind that Microsoft sold a lot of Kinect sensors and systems to families. Who, based on my own personal experience with Kinect Disneyland Adventures at E3, should love the game.

It's not for Halo fans, its not for Modern Warfare fans. It's for gamers like my four year old daughter who will not want to turn it off. Same as Sesame Street. It's nice to see high quality titles for families along side the solid core titles.

But apart from Halo & Gears, hardcome gamers felt left out, what more is there to look forward to? Remind me again why I own a 360, was it not for games?

@Spunky Monkey 190906 Got no answer for you :)

What this does highlight, rather than a focus on Kinect, is that Microsoft is coming up dry on first party titles. They have Gears, they have Halo, they have Forza and they have Fable. Beyond that, there's just not that much in the stable.

Meanwhile, Sony can roll out Uncharted, God of War, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, Motorstorm, Wipeout, Twisted Metal, etc.

Microsoft would benefit from being able to in-house produce the next Gears or Halo. Instead, as we saw at E3, they started off with 40 minutes of third party multiplatform titles before they even bothered with a console exclusive.

@theBrayn If I could, I would have taken home a copy of the game from E3. Granted, my perspective is a little more family oriented than say, the rest of the gaming media, but Kinect Disneyland was one of my favorites from the show this year.

@Spunky Monkey 190906 If you have to ask that then either you only like a very small amount of games are you're expectations are out the roof. MS is in business to make money and Kinect is their cash cow right now. There are more than enough core games coming, exclusive and multiplatform. You can always buy a wonderful Wii U, oh joy! OR better yet, get a PS3 and lose your personal data.

@Theneverendingsoda There's more money in being an entertainment device for everyone that just catering to the core market. Which is why you see more XBox Live entertainment options and Kinect titles.

Unfortunately, it does feel like its coming at the expense of core gamers.

I think the Disney announcement was probably the single most important announcement at E3 between all three companies. Do you realize how big this will be for MS and Kinect? Huge deal.

My kids play games. Ergo, they are gamers. And I will gladly play with them, and enjoy it every bit as much as I will enjoy Halo Anniversary.

The old definition of gamer doesn't work anymore. Thanks to Farmville, Angry Birds, Words with Friends, etc.

This game sounds like that "Universal Studios Adventures" game that was release for the GameCube. I rented it expecting a detailed digital version of the theme parks, but almost all there was to it, were poorly designed minigames.
