Dawn of War 3 further detailed by THQ's Danny Bilson

THQ executive vice president Danny Bilson is known for his many things -- his gorgeous shock of graphite hair, his devil-may-care attitude, a movie star daughter. But in the game industry, he's best known for speaking loosely and passionately about his company's yet-to-be-revealed projects. A recent interview with Eurogamer is no exception, with Bilson offering a small brigade of details on Dawn of War 3.

Bilson says that the sequel to 2009's Dawn of War 2 is in development "right now," and is a mix of new elements with features from the first two titles. He also admitted that his company will be making a game announcement at GamesCom in the PC gamer-friendly country of Germany, which we're taking a wild guess is the official reveal of DoW3. We'll be on the ground in Cologne this August to bring you more details.

He also made some comments about MMO-esque functionality, which possibly means massive battle maps for multiplayer.

Though I mean, in doing so they're just leaving the planet open to be fully conquered by the Space Marines.

Lol Yea, Well I want to import my characters I had, considering they released several games Day 1 (duke nukem is available for example) I don't understand why DoW2:Retribution has been Coming Soon for like 3 months.

DoW2 was everything I ever wanted in an RTS and NOTHING I didn't. Take THAT everyone else.

The Blood Ravens aren't as "Special" as the Ultramarines.

The Blood Ravens chapter master is a heretic.
The Ultramarines Chapter Master is one of the purest marines of all time, with dual powerfists that both have storm bolters attached, and is wearing his primarch's armour.

However, in DoW II, you annihilated entire armies of Orks with only four "named" marines, including a Force Commander. So it's not too far off.

Hopefully this comes put around the same time as C&C Generals 2.

if i remember correctly, I think they're going to announce an entirely new game. so a sequel to one of their established franchises wouldn't make sense.

I didn't like Dow II, I want them to go back to DOW 1, or as another person put it, have 4x space battles along with planet RTS(like dow 1) to make it epic.

He co-wrote Trancers and The Rocketeer?!
