I know i'll get downvoted and called an idiot, but it really bothers me that this was supposed to be in the game. I have no qualms about paying a little more for extra content (like undead nightmare, or the episodes from liberty city) but not cases that should have been covered in the sixty i already spent on this game. I feel ripped off.

yeah that does piss me off too, not so much for that reason but because these cases slot into the timeline of each department.

It's not as is if these are standalone they take place in the game time so going back in to play a traffic case when you are already at arson makes the game progress disjointed.

I want to play the whole game in order not have to keep going back and forward.

@Raddigan Well it's not like there isn't enough content in the game. And it is already on THREE discs. :p

If Team Bondi and Rockstar intentionally took these cases out of the game in order to make money via DLC than I think you'd have a right to be pissed off. But that's not what happened.

The fact is that the content Team Bondi created for this game is just too big for the current disc formats. As it is, the game fills up a Blu Ray disc on PS3 and three DVDs on XBox 360. If they had kept all of the content in the game it would have released as SIX DVD's and possibly two Blu Ray discs. I know XBox wasn't happy with the possibility of six DVDs. Team Bondi had to keep getting rid of things before the console manufacturers (who do give the go-ahead for games to be published for their system) were happy. It started as six DVDs, went to five, then to four and finally to the three they released.

I wouldn't have had a problem if the game had been six DVDs but I bet a lot of other gamers would have complained about it and it possibly would have held down the sales numbers some, so I understand why this has happened.

I agree with you that the DLC cases do make the game a little disjointed, but the ones I've played so far IMO aren't really that important to the overall story arc. Originally I thought Team Bondi had cut out an entire desk from the game but it looks like they've cut out an entire desk's worth of material, meaning four or five cases.

@CNOLA85

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. For $60 you got a content filled game that took a good amount of time to play and had plenty of extras to explore. All these extra cases are just added bonus to an already great game. I played through the entire game with no DLC cases and didn't feel like anything was missing. Further, I personally enjoyed going back and playing the DLC cases after beating the game to interact with old characters. If you don't want to play without these, wait about 6 months for the game of the year edition.

I'd usually agree with you, but LA Noire was such a great game that it really doesn't bother me giving Rockstar another 10 bucks for more awesome content. You can't really blame them either, if they added the 3-4 extra cases they were seemingly planning to the disc, then it would have gone over the 3 disc capacity on the 360 and it would have cost you more than 60$ to buy it anyway because of the more room they would need. And if it was a PS3 exclusive like it was supposed to be, people would be bitching about why it isn't on the 360. It was kind of a lose-lose for Rockstar but like I said, it's an awesome game even without the few cases they omitted, so I don't really see the issue.

Rockstar's one of the few developers that doesn't usually cheat their customers by hacking and slashing pieces of the game away to sell after release, unlike EA and Activision and so many others.

@GMUHistorian Um no, Team Bondi could easily used a Dual Layer Bluray and store twice as much information on it. If anything the DVD format on the 360 is holding everyone back.

We'll see how much more I can take after I finish the game. Currently at case 17 out of 21.

Loving it so far but it feels like I might have had my share of the game once I finish the main campaign...

@Lucky The Fox

I did just that last night with the first two DLC cases. I really hope Rockstar and Team Bondi release as much DLC as GTA IV got but I doubt it'll get that much. I just hope the last DLC isn't the already announced stuff they're releasing in July.

I think they said that the last DLC is the last "planned' one. I'm guessing they have to wait on sales before they can get the green light to do more DLC.

$12 for the Rockstar Pass? I paid 800 points. Did the price go up or something?

It was 1000 points until June 14th, and then went up to its normal price of 1200 points.

@ItsameMatt03 For a limited time you could get the RockStar pass early for 800 points. After a certain date, the price was supposed to go up.

Oh no, you're right. 800 until June 14th and then 1000 afterwards, although they've extended the date until June 21st.

Brother works in the gaming department at Best Buy, so I got one of those midnight release codes to get this DLC for free even though I bought the game at Gamestop.

I got the Consul's Car, The Naked City, The Badge Pursuit challenge, and this DLC. Guess I don't need the Rockstar pass... well at least until that weed DLC comes out
