@sammo21 I just can't look at a news item, commercial or something else about Ridge Racer without thinking that.

If I had a dollar for every time that joke was used in a Ridge Racer thread... I'd have a lot of dollars.

It's been going around that one of the recent updates fixed some resolution issues when playing DS games, making them look way better now (though apparently mileage may vary) has anyone noticed themselves?

My "Nine Hours..." still looks better on my DSi, but am also curious what others have experienced.

haven't noticed a difference, but I always play in the 1:1 ratio mode, not the upscaled.

Nope. Having fired up Pokemon White I still prefer the 1:1 ratio and notice no difference with the upscale. Still lacks the crispness of a DSi or the 1:1 ratio on 3DS.

How do you change the ratio on DS games?

Thats what i thought... Though I also read that games with sprites dont look much different while 3D games benefitted the most... I'ma just stick with 1:1 anyways...

@Enosama
hold start and select while the DS game loads... Looks way better as long as you dont mind everything being tiny

Hold Start *OR* Select, no need to hold both. Wish IGN/everyone else would finally dispel that misinformation they put out there.

Have they fixed the "Ghost Recon crashing 15 minutes into a mission" glitch. 'Cause that's a bitch.

I hope so, I heard turning off wireless prevents such things, but it may just be a placebo fix.

I just beat that game a couple days ago, I don't know how long it has been since you tried. I only experienced one freeze-up playing through the whole campaign.

@megapenguinx it happened to me on every mission atleast once. then my save game erased, twice. I'm on the third chapter now after the last update and haven't had an issue yet

The downloads are automatic, the installs are not, FYI

@Vidaluko

Excellent news and nice tidbit. The downloads do take a fair amount of time so I enjoy it downloading while in standby. Would have been pissed if it auto-installed. Chances are if they could have they would have, but I imagine that could lead to a *LOT* of bricking of consoles from batteries dying out on forced installs.

I haven't been able to choose the Download 1 costume for Ayane in DOA: Dimensions since around when the update came out. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. I wonder if it's related to the update.

Not to be taken lightly: it sure is nice to have wireless functionality in the 3DS that allows devs to push OTA updates in circumstances such as the issue that took place w/Ridge Racer 3D awhile back.
