That encyclopedia is sure tempting...most of that DLC though I could live without...the Brutus armor is pretty ugly in my opinion...I didn't even bother using it in Brotherhood when I bought. Also doubt that the "Vlad the Impaler level" has him in it as its way out of when he was alive (more Altair) as its probably just your typical dungeon that you run through and then get a present at the end.

Temoted to get it but for $150 that seems rather steep.

If I were a collector, I would get this in a nano second,
but see that I'm just a regular gamer, I'll stick with the regular edition.

Buy the standard game on release for £40 or wait until this time next year and get this edition for £40.

Only cool part is the Encyclopedia. Otherwise, just as unappealing as Brotherhood's collector's edition with the jack in the box.

After seeing the crappy quality of the Splinter Cell Conviction Collector's Edition (the art book was flimsy and the USB drive didn't work for many users, including me), I think I will pass on another Ubisoft special package.

USB data was eventually given out to everyone because of the USB drives state :P

no statue or jack-in-the-box type additions equal no buy on this special edition (even though ive bought every special edition for the AC series)

the only thing that i really want besides the game is the soundtrack...AC soundtracks are great and i encourage everyone to check'em out. Jesper Kyd is really on point.

Exactly! By that stereotypical reckoning the American version should come with extra lard, paranoia of foreigners and a diy redneck kit.

Ya know we are here to discuss the animus edition not stereo types that americans have so rudely labeled everyone with.

Yes. Totally. I bet that it will be for sale on ebay. The only thing about this one that is catching my interest is that encyclopedia... D

My question is if I buy this on e-bay will it work in North America? I have a sad and sneaking suspicion it'd be region locked.

@commonperson the ps3 version should work, i have imported a few games from the usa and they work here just fine.

as for the 360 it depends, im not sure if ubisoft locks their games but i know some don't (eg rockstar didn't lock rdr or la noire)

@(Unverified) " $150 for one friggin' game??!!!!

What is this, the year 2029??? "

its actualy €60 euros for a normal game here so €99 euros isn't that bad for a special edition.

you also got to remember that companys treats the euro (atleast in ireland) like its the american doller. ie. $60 = €60.

There's also an Animus Edition in Spain. In Spain, there's four editions: NORMAL for €70,95 / SPECIAL for €64,95 (only in Game) / COLLECTOR for €79,95 / ANIMUS for €100,95.
