At first the attacks seemed isolated and spaced out, but now it's just one attack after another.

@Psychotine This shit is only going to get worse, i'm pretty sure were going to see copycat groups competing to see who can be the number one douche bag. I'd advise all my fellow gamers so set up this free service from google, it immediately tells you if someone is posting your info or email on the web.

I call bullsh*t on this. They are probably part of the group that had access to Sony's info from their hack, and are using these password/email combo's on the other sites like paypal, facebook, xbox live, ect.

Obviously there will be people that use the same info across accounts, and I'm sure that a high amount of users either only changed their PSN password, or haven't even changed anything.

I do not believe for a second they have hacked each and every one of those sites, they are just trying to make it look that way.

read the update, xbox live wasn't actually hacked. they just posted email/password combos they got elsewhere, in the event the same combo worked on Live.

They are actually Dreamcast fans, apparently another hacker group made a threat towards SEGA and Lulzsec is offering full support/a counter attack on SEGA's behalf. Sounds kind of silly but you have to admit its pretty cool.

You can follow this stuff on their twitter feed

SEGA Pass was hacked. SEGA sent out an E-mail to it's users this morning stating that on June 16 their servers were hit and some personal info about their users was stolen.

Yeah yeah, PS2 GAMES had online. There was no online integration into the system itself. IE - No eStores, no friends list, no messaging, no firmware updates, etc. The PS2 was an offline system that had about 10 online games. The network adapter was a joke and everyone knew it.

Well there you have it, lulzsec didn't do that though. And they even offered SEGA support. I don't see where the down votes came from, maybe because I drew attention to their twitter.

Headline is misleading, The information didn't come from XBOX live, so you aren't likely at risk unless you are on this list:
http://gizmodo.com/5812545/find-out-if-your-passwords-were-leaked-by-lulzsec-right-here

The XBOX live and facebook accounts that were compromised re-used their password and email on some writers website IIRC.

@Ghede This is true.
I really wish sites would not put such misleading headlines.

Lulzsec hacked some random website a few months ago and stole the emails and passwords.
They released those emails and passwords over 24 hours ago (pretty damn late Joystiq) And then their followers subsequently checked them against facebook/xboxlive/paypal to find reused passwords.

And honestly, if you're so stupid you use the same email/password for everything, you deserve to be hacked.

Look down, back up, where are you? You're viewing articles with comments yours could look like. What's in your hand, back at me. I have it, it's a console with a game of that genre you love. Look again, the game is now GOTY. Anything is possible when you make good comments and don't act like a noob. I'm on a dragon.

People have dozens of logins these days. Very few people have unique passwords for all sites because they would simply be forgetting them all the time otherwise.

There are tons of ways for you to generate different passwords without forgetting them. Like adding the first letter of the website you are in to your password. Or adding the next letter. Or adding the number of letters of the website. Just be creative and use different passwords, don't be stupid.

@ShadowXIII

Whatever kid.

See that?

When you get stabbed in the face multiple times by many people and got the verbal beat down on probably the worst scale I've seen this year, by no less, a girl impersonating Chris Hansen on a dragon, ...and you *still* manage to survive it? The trick is to lie there and *at least* play dead and try not to twitch....kicking and screaming is just gonna get you stabbed again just to shut you up.

All I'm gonna do is give you a thumbs up, a wink, and a smile.

Knowing is half the battle, stay in school!

Kid, this a news blog about videogames. I don't care what some guy on his mom's basement writes to me and I couldn't give any less what him or you had to say or what other people deemed to be blue. Keep trying to get under my skin, though, it's quite amusing. lold so hard at your comment, it made my day, thank you.

PS: Keep using the same password for everything, you won't regret it ;)

Sure, I've heard of people doing stuff like that. The problem is stuff like that is fairly well known. And if one site is hacked and someone figures out your system then they suddenly know all your passwords. The safest way is random, complicated, and unique passwords... but those are the ones everyone forgets. So most people compromise one way or another, even your example is a compromise with a flaw.

Nah. I just gave an easy example for the sake of it. If you have a good way to "build" your password, nobody is going to learn it if they only have ONE of your passwords.

Nevertheless, my point still stands. Use different passwords (however you wanna make them) unless you want to get hacked.
