Killzone 3's 'From the Ashes' DLC detailed, adds four multiplayer maps

Sony and Guerrilla Games have revealed a bit of the content included in Killzone 3's upcoming "From the Ashes" DLC, a four-map pack which will arrive on the PSN this coming Tuesday for $4.99. The pack is divided into two Warzone maps, including the deadly, deactivated Lente Missile Base; and two Guerrilla Warfare battlegrounds, such as the Mobile Factory, a gargantuan vehicle pulled from the game's single-player campaign. If you haven't grabbed any of the shooter's post-launch DLC, you can also grab the new maps in the aptly named Bundle Pack, which also includes the four maps from the Steel Rain and Retro Packs for a cool $9.99. Just try to comprehend that value: For a ten-spot, you get eight extra Killzones for your Killzone 3.

Even though i never use that feature, I still wish Sony made that a requirement for their games like they did with trophies. Oh well, always hope for the ps4.

Custom soundtrack is back. Added it with the latest patch. You have to go to the audio setting in the game to enable it though, and it disables the squad chat function.

Honestly, I don't know why it wasn't there from the beginning, but if it's fixed, who cares now.

Wow five dollars is something i can stand by. These maps look way more detailed than a certain competitive pack that selling for three times the price.

In COD I always notice things that ive seen somewhere else.

$5 for 4 maps isnt bad.....I just wish they would make some more maps for Operations....love that mode...

Pretty much the same hope I had when I first read the headline. That mode is incredibly cool, especially now that I can crank the MGS4 special edition soundtrack while I play like I did in Killzone 2 - that music enhances crazy action like almost nothing else.

Hey look, $1.25 per map. HOLY SHIT I WISH ACTIVISION WOULD TAKE $10 FOR WHAT PROBABLY TOOK LESS EFFORT.

Know what's probably pretty crazy? They probably actually tried to make these maps fun and balanced and all that so that people could get the most for their $5.

Instead of a map pack coming out basically every month and a half, with maps that aren't particularly better than what a mod community could come up with in two days. Hell, I think I've seen communities put more effort into maps than developers.

Good thing the only map pack I have for Black Ops is one I got for free, because after playing with it (and seeing how a server that's full can go down to 4 people on a map switch), I don't see how they can charge us $15 for it.

Of course, best case scenario is that these maps are free. But $5 is totally fine for 4 maps.

I hate to use the ol Halo 3 vs Gears of War graphics excuse, but it is a very different art style.

Don't like the mp in kz3 at all. The way they switched it up basically makes it to where everyone is an invisible sniper. kz2 mp was so much more fun.

I've played a total of one match where the other team in GW was snipers. And you know what? I murdered them. They have a false sense of security standing around invisible with radar jam. Every time I see that static in my radar I look for a sniper and stab him in the throat. Fun every time.

they nerfed the sniper class in the last patch, check out the notes. The slightest move and you can see them.

REMOVABLE TURRETS!! Radec Academy and Tharsis Depot have trophies if you look at the kz3 list on the ps3 so they're probably the other two for this pack.

I love Guerilla.. Maybe I'll give it a try again.. Bought KZ3 on release.. Played it 2 days and I ran off because of the CoD controls, but a 5,- DLC is worth a try.

I'm kinda late to the party here, but I have a question for all you guys. Do you think I should go out and get this game? I have had a PS3 for roughly a year now and have yet to get into a multiplayer game on there. I usually do my online play on my 360 mostly playing Halo , and I'm planning on getting BF3, and I have hated COD since 4 released. So just wondering, do you think someone who loves Halo, a little Battlefield and hates COD would enjoy this game enough to get into the multiplayer. Oh, and I also tried out KZ2 online and didnt really care for it too much.

My PS3 is solely for KZ2 and KZ3.
Quite simply , you ned Killzone in your collection.
KZ2 is a little more hardcore but for newbies like yourself well KZ3 welcomes you online and makes sure you have fun.

The community is strong ( KZ2 is still chock a block ) , and this coming week EVERY KZ3 map pack is in 1 tasty bundle of £8 , whats that something like $12 USD ?

I found a set of headphones that let me play my game consoles audio and my MP3 player at the same time and I FREAKING LOVE IT. My wife hates it because I used to act like I was listening to her sometimes and now its like she's not there. Oh well can't make two people happy at the same time. or something like that%&@...
