@runescapeblows Yeah, I got it a couple of months ago when it was $10 but it has a lot of problems:
1) Barely any servers or people playing which makes it a bitch to find a decent game.
2) Some people seem to be MNC Gods/one with The Matrix. It's not fun when matches are helplessly one-sided and you feel you don't even have a fighting chance.

That sucks about the low player count. I was going to buy this game, since it's so cheap. I already have it on Xbox, but the monthly subscription for Gold costs more than this game on PC... so...

I'm still playing MNC on Xbox and I think there's plenty of players around still. I do occasionally run into the same people but I think that's just the matchmaking at work. On PC, I have no idea– I thought game's communities lasted forever on PC, so it's surprising to hear people say it's dead here. Maybe a slight exaggeration?

That's a bummer if the Console population is low.
However it's still easy to find good, well populated servers on the PC, and while the sale is over if anyone is considering getting this on Steam I'd recommend it as it's very fun and totally worth it even at full price.

That's a pretty good deal. I've only tried the game once, but I'll probably pick this up just in case I decide to start playing it sometime soon.

Does it feel unique enough compared to TF2?

@(Unverified) I've only heard this secondhand, but apparently yes. The core gameplay itself is really different and interesting (almost like tower defense), and the game show aesthetic is awesome.

@(Unverified) Take it from someone who loves both games, there are some huge differences. There is a money system in MNC game, similar to Counter-Strike but you use it to buy upgrades, sentry guns, bots and even 'uber charges'. Yes, anyone can earn an 'uber charge' (refered to as Juice in MNC) and anyone can build a 4 different types of sentry guns.
There are 2 modes; Blitz mode which is more of a Team vs. UPC scenario, similar to a tower defense, where players build guns to protect the 'Moneyball' against enemy bots. Crossfire mode which is team vs. team tower defense. Both teams can spawn bots (each class even has their own special bot) and attempt to guide them toward the enemies Moneyball, each team attacks while trying to defend.
The humor and cartoony style of TF2 is there, sure. But there are way too many differences in the gameplay for them to be compared. I could explain further but it would be easier to just play especially for this amazing price.

Or if you like having fun, you could get TF2 for a few dollars more.

I tried this on PC during that free day a while back, was disappointed in the quirky (at least for me) controller support (it lets you use a controller, but all button prompts are for mouse/joystick). Then it crashed a couple of times (once just because of alt-tab, can't remember the other time). Tried it on the 360 via demo, worked perfect, had fun for a little bit.
Wish 360 version would go on sale again! And be updated (last I knew pc version gets more updates/features)!

I feel like this is in an effort to revive the game. I went to play last night for the first time since the V-Day update and I was shocked to find I couldn't find one game of Blitz. There were only 4 crossfire servers with players in it too. Hopefully I can get a few Blitz games going now

Great game, too bad the community is deal. Snipers still need to be nerfed too, too many good players dominate the game as Sniper and makes it frustrating for everyone else

Well I just picked it up. I had been meaning to, but had been playing Global Agenda for my 3PS PvP fix lately. Let's see how good it is.

I've been playing this game since it came out in SoA '10 – I love it.

Just thought i'd mention, as someone who plays it quite a bit, the number of active servers increased quite a bit with this sale, so if you are worried about there being enough people, dont :D
Besides, gotta support the indies!

I picked this up on a weekend deal for 10 bucks and it was a good deal then. This is a solid no brainer deal. Seriously pick it up if you are curious, it has it's flaws but hey every game has its share of problems.
