I like Amazon. Good place to shop other than eBay

I resent eBay with a passion. It's nothing like it used to be and they're horrible to sellers. eBay's fees on its own are reasonable but when you add Paypal's awful fees, it's just shit being thrown in your eye. If Paypal would differentiate between payments, meaning that once you accept credit cards you don't ALWAYS get charged a fee even if the payment used would be "free" normally. I don't care for the fact that they require everyone to only use Paypal, either.

eBay needs some real competition but if it went away, I wouldn't miss it very much at all.

And... what else?
What games am I looking forward to this Vita?

...I got my 3DS for the games they announced - and despite not having all of them out just yet, I'm at least guaranteed that they will come into existence.

All I'm seeing look great for Vita is that Vanillaware game. ...which just guarantees I'll buy it years later after its release, not a day-one.

@blahblah55 Super Stardust Delta, LittleBigPlanet, Gravity, Reality Fighters, Sound Shapes, Ruin, and a new portable Mortal Kombat sound amazing. Having two analog sticks will make tons of genres far better on a portable than they ever have been before. And of course the 3DS will have a few more games announced, it is actually RELEASED. And when the games that excite people are N64 ports and outsourced sequels that look depressingly similar to their predecessors, I can't say the 3DS has a library worth making the "Games, Not Hardware" argument.

C'mon don't cheapen the Zelda 64 re-release. This isn't any port, it's now the definitive version of the BEST GAME EVER MADE. Of course people are excited about it.

Yeah, the whole "it's a portable console" argument didn't help the PSP and I don't think it will help the PSV, either. Who's gonna buy that for their kids? Whoever controls the kids controls the parents, and whoever controls the parents controls the portable market. PSV doesn't have the software to do that. Japan may eat it up, but America won't, and whoever wins in America wins overall. Also, you can't knock the 3DS for outsourced sequels when that's exactly the strategy behind the Vita. Uncharted, LBP, Super Stardust, etc.

...LBP definitely is another one to look at. But after the first one, I find it almost unnecessary to get any other ones.
Its limitations is what made people become vastly more creative with it. All it needed was larger space and BAM no need for LBP2 or any other ones.

The two analog argument would've been nice if the 3DS didn't have the motion control in it. I find it more comfortable to move the screen around instead of having an extra joystick to look around (though an extra joystick would be useful in car rides).

Still, with all that said, it's still not a day-one purchase from me.
It's interesting - it really is : But how does that make this deal less appealing? Nintendo isn't gonna' drop the price for the 3DS anytime soon and all the bundles that have been mentioned weren't that amazing, might as well get it now with a nice deal of $25.
If the Vita had the same exact deal right now, yeah: I'd definitely be interested in it - but for now? : The Vita doesn't make this deal any less appealing.

@Hawaii Jeff Meanwhile, adults can own both handhelds. That's my plan. Bought my 3DS yesterday and I'll be picking up a Vita as soon as I'm sure there are no serious hardware issues.

I wonder if the purchase of a 3DS giving a $50 credit would be enough to convince even the most rejecting of gamers.

@blahblah55 Probably not. While that would finally make the price acceptable, there have to be games on a handheld before it's something people want to own. The 3DS has....a port of an N64 game. And that's their FLAGSHIP title.

I dunno about you, but Dead or Alive Dimensions was my flagship title.
Also, the 3DS a nice replacement of my DSi. Adding in all the DSiWare I have for the game adds value. I'm quite satisfied with SSFIV3D (which makes me a small market considering that it's split half and half on those who decided whether it was good or not). Ghost Recon is praised by many (though it isn't my style. I prefer large groups when it comes to strategy games). And Pilot Wings Resort was pretty decent as a launch (though I'll agree with many it would've been better as a pre-packaged game).

As for upcoming titles...
MGS3? Also a lovely added title. I already have MGS3, and I will get it for the HD version - but I'd also love it as a handheld title. MGS3 on the go = awesome.
Animal Crossing, Bit Trip collection, Cave Story 3D, Mario Kart, both Resident Evil titles, Kid Icarus, Class of Heroes (though not guaranteed for the US, it did sell rather well for the PSP... and I liked it on there too), and Star Fox (yes a port, but whatever, I like me some Star Fox) are all games I'm looking forward to.

So... yeah, that $50 would be pretty appealing.

BTW: Hate the 3DS much?
Seriously - your comment's on the same boat as those who say "THERE'S NO GAMES FOR THE PSP".

Both DS and PSP had great titles, but both sides had games that only appealed to certain audiences. You're saying that your lack of interest in games for the 3DS makes it a FACT that the 3DS doesn't have any good titles. ...which is rather blind, man.

I *really* want a 3DS. But the $250 price point feels so very steep...even at $225 (though the full $250 is up-front, natch) it's a bit too much for me. I wonder if they'll drop the price any near the PSV launch? Though I doubt it, Nintendo could sell potato chips at $400 and outsell the competition.

...Which is a bit bad, I think. I think the 3DS is a great piece of hardware, but competition advances industry; if Nintendo is immune to very serious competition, they have no reason to improve and will thus stagnate.

So unfortunately, while this deal was immediately appealing, a $25 future-credit is not enough of a discount to snag my $250. No knock against the 3DS, but I'll need to see it lower before I pull the trigger.

@ravenholm777 Has it shipped? If not, cancel and re-order. If it has, contact their customer support. I would bet at the least you could return it marked 'return to sender' so you don't have to pay shipping, then they'll receieve it, then you could re-order it. But contact their support. I bet they'll honor it.

If the 3DS had had the price drop it SHOULD have had at E3 after seeing the Vita, and Amazon was now offering this gift card, I'd be all over it. But I'm convinced the 3DS will be $200 before the Vita releases so I'm not buying it until it is.

At Best Buy right now (at least in Toronto), you can get a $20 gift card with a 3DS. So that's another option.
